Heavy Metal Bismuth Slugs - Quite impressive results

Ed cast some nice,   heavy slugs for us using an Accurate mold and RotoMetal's  bismuth alloy.   Dimensions,  particularly the outside diameter were perfect for rifling.

thanks everyone!!

Jeff: that's a bad link.

Too bad it doesn't fragment immediately after impact. I guess you just don't miss and you won't have to worry about it travelling downrange into your neighbor's house.

I'll use larger text next time to show the percentages. https://youtu.be/26K6AE_4tNA?t=44

Jeff: I looked it up at the RotoMetal website.... they have about 16+ different alloys of bismuth, so unless your friend can be a bit more specific on which alloy he used, I'm back at square one. Pure bismuth is on sale for $8.99/lb, but cast one pound ingots of the various alloys of bismuth are $17/lb. give or take making it way too expensive to buy 16 alloys and experiment. If you do find out what specific alloy he bought, please let us all know. Thanks!! A loyal Patreon subscriber....

Probably go through 100 sheets of drywall. lol Drywall doesn't really stop anything.

The mold is called 73-775S. The bismuth alloy came from RotoMetals.

It would be nice to see how these behave when passing through drywall, or cinderblock. This might be a really good choice for home defense if it fragments and slows going through drywall. I would think you could get away with a lower velocity, as heavy as these are, and still get good stopping performance.

Jeff: That bismuth is VERY impressive. What alloy mix was used to cast these, and which Accurate mould was used? May cook some of these up for myself!! Thanks!!

Wow! I wanna make me some of these! Excellent job Jeff & Danny!

Danny's beard is looking very smart today :)

To the breastriary in nippopolis!

Aren't bowling pins made from maple?
