Electrical Cable 12ga Slugs

We were sent some 1" long sections of 4/0 insulated cable to see if we could get them working well as shotgun slugs.   I hope you enjoy it!

I never know why, it's rare and nice when something like that happens.

They weren't cut very square, but I did belt-sand them all to correct that.

I wonder why this video got 1.4 million views in a week? That's awesome

It looked like the ends of the cable sections were not cut square, so I wonder if a) that was responsible for aerodynamic effects overcoming both inertia and spin stabilization, and b) presenting an edge of the rubber jacket to a supersonic shock wave strong enough to rip it off the cable inside - producing both the erratic flight and the spontaneous disintegration from both nose irregularity and lack of base flatness. Too bad there's no "pencil sharpener" large enough to make the tip centered and push the jacket back out of the shock wave and air flow - these look like they would be mean as a fragmenting/flechette defense round.

you should definitely make a v2 of these with the tipps from the comments on how to keep the cables toghether during flight. Also by using steel wire and shrink tube, you could make something like these by yourself

Another great test. I accidentally shot up all of my 00 buck, one of your videos may have an idea for a replacement.

That is totally cool! If only it were more consistent...
