What's going on with Danny?

Several of you have asked me to keep you advised on how Danny is doing.  I haven't explained much what is going on because he wanted to wait until HE knew everything.

When we filmed the footage for the subsonic dumbbell slugs on a pretty warm day,   Danny felt VERY weak near the end and almost wasn't able to finish the last couple shots.   He figured it was just because of the heat  and I was feeling it too to be honest.

A few days passed and he wasn't feeling any better so he went to the emergency room and started getting tested to see what was going on,   taking quite a few trips to the closest VA hospital which is about a 100 mile round trip.

To make matters worse,   Danny's dog Doris (who popped up in a few videos)  had a severe seizure and had to be put down.    Needless to say,  this all has been very stressful for Danny's wife.

I asked Danny if he needed anything to make life even a tiny bit more bearable and he did say he might need help just with transportation costs back and forth to the hospital.   I can do that.  Despite what you might think about VA hospitals,   since I have known him,  he has gotten pretty good care there and  he's gotten in quickly.   Possible better care than any regular hospital in the state.

Today I got a message from him:

Just an update. I’m in Fresno Hospital getting chemotherapy treatment. Just started today. Now we see how my body reacts to the treatment then decide the next step. If you would like, you have my permission to let subscribers know what’s going on. Basically, I have blood cancer and going through treatments.

That's all I know and keep you updated on his condition.

Just saw this 9/20 about Danny and l will be praying for your healing. God loves you on good days and bad days. Never give up on God he loves you and knows your heart. Kurt Ledbetter

Trust me I have offered him anything, money included and he's stubborn to accept it.

Thank you for that, I've been passing the messages to Danny and I sent him your message. That is what he has and it should give him some hope.

Was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma 2 years ago; don't know if it's the same as Danny's malady, but it's under control, and new treatments seem to appear every 5 minutes. There's an information site, Patient Power, that sends out a free newsletter on Cancer treatment developments. Their website is: https://patientpower.info/?utm_source=e-News+Subscribers&utm_campaign=e39fed89b1-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_12_18_2020_12_1_MMY_US_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_9e75b45127-e39fed89b1-288820880 As for the VA, the law is that if you cannot get treatment from a VA hospital within 40 miles/1 hour's drive of your location, you can receive covered treatment from a local hospital - very important for lowering treatment-related stress and time involved in treatment. Same for extended waits for treatment. Call 1-833-4VETNOW (1-833-483-8669) to confirm eligibility. Finally, how can we chip in to help defray Danny's costs?

All the Best Danny... mom still thinks you are handsome... The VA hospitals are far better in may respects than even the best civilian health care. I have had nurses and doctors marvel at that the VA if you need a MRI... they do an MRI... your doctor wants to do an MRI every day... they do an MRI everyday. You need an expensive blood test (some of the chemical reagents and calibration chemicals are unimaginably expensive... you get the test. Basically every consumable or expensive test its whatever is needed... in any civilian center it is not that way even in teaching hospitals. The VA Louis Stokes hospital in on the campus of Chase-Western University and the Cleveland Clinic is across the street. The post intern doctors granted Fellowships all prefer the VA over Cleveland Clinic. In fact, other the treatment and care at all levels is better.... ! So you are in good hands. The VA does have travel pay available "You just ask for it by signing up... and once in the system when you check in when the computer asks "do you have anything else you want to do"... you select travel pay... and you will get it deposited usually within a day or two. Some centers are not fully computerized so you have to fill out the form and put it in when you leave before leaving for home... you can get a form and send it in within 30 days too... but these paper methods result in longer payment delay. Also they will pay for lodging or put them up at the hospital family members like a wife if you are getting treatment.
