How I made the Double Donut shotgun slugs

This video shows how I created the Double Donut slugs.   Pretty simple using only a drill press,  a hole saw,  files,  and deburring tools.   The most critical dimension,  the outside diameter was done using a 7/8" hole saw.   Each slug weighs 1/2 oz.

Yup; that lead is dangerous. I started setting type (led, tin and antimony) and used line spacing called Leads and Slugs.when I was 11. I knew a lot of printers, all died of old age. I knew lots of fishermen that used lead sinkers; none I knew had lead poisoning. Tire shops used to use lead weights and plumbers used lead in their work too. OH! The tragedy!

Cue the "Eww! Lead will kill you!" comments. However, I feel obligated to add, latex gloves will not take your digits for a ride if caught up in the spinning bits. And they will reduce your contact with the lead dust.

i hope no lead plates were hurt or damaged in the making of this video !

Cool, I like this how it’s made series!

I was very curious about this process, and I hope they show up again sometime in the future
