Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Boom [4x13] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

Hey all! Ahh, so fun to return to Agents of SHIELD after a while (for me recording these). This season continues to deliver GOOD stuff. [Direct link here.]

Episode 14 will be shared tomorrow. My apologies for the slightly delayed sharing this week compared to the norm.

Please enjoy!

Would I want Shockley's power, only if there is no pain involved and I was a villan or a demolitionist lol. The CGI/Graphical work on the reainimation of Shockley was really cool looking ! I kinda understand Radclifs longterm goal now wanting the best life for Agnes by eventually making the Framework, but the path tp get there is very sketchy. Now you got Aida taking the necklace seeming to maybe try and replace Agnes to become more real maybe who knows. Would I want my mind transfered to live for ever.... only if i knew I wasnt gonna be reborn again somewhere down the line. If its Matrix like where I can choose what I want to be in the Framework.

KL: I hope Agnes and May meet and team up in the Framework. Me: This is AoS. C'mon. To quote the Arbiter from Halo, "Were it so easy." 😁

I can't remember what Shockley's comic book name was. Was it Nitro? Yeah, I don't blame Agnes at all.

Well that was an explosive episode! (sorry, once that terrible pun came to mind I couldn't think of another way to start!) So Tucker Shockley (could he have a more on-the-nose name?) is an Inhuman - there's a nice poetic irony to that. I suppose you do have to respect that he sticks with his beliefs after becoming what he hates. Hoovering him up after exploding him is certainly a novel way of containing him, though I'm not sure what else could be done TBH. Seems Mace is really struggling with the realities of no longer being a superhero - he really wants to be more than just a figurehead for SHIELD. His 'sacrifice-play' for the team has some definite heroic vibes, especially since we find out the serum has a non-trivial chance of killing him when he takes it. I understand why Agnes chooses to go with Radcliffe - the vague possibility of being able to live, even if not exactly as she was, versus the certainty of death? I think in her position that's probably an easy decision - and as we see she ultimately only had a day or two of life left. Besides all that, we still get a couple of amusing moments - Simmons being angry at Fitz for risking his life, and FitzSimmons silently 'pressuring' Daisy into trying to control Shockley is are both funny and endearing.

Sunday morning is looking fucking good...

I love that Black mirror episode. The newest episodes are interesting. We lost another team member. Mace and May are now captured. Aida is a LMD and Radcliffe programming tells her that she must exhibit the proper responses to being human but seeing something that looks like her but acts more human than her and Radcliffe telling her that not being like Agnes would cause the uncanny valley would definitely confuse her and grabbing the necklace is her attempt to fix that issue. If she wears the necklace that makes her more human right.....

I can see that!

Never watched Black Mirror, but I’d say the Framework is like what White Rose envisioned.
