Just watched this again. I missed it in my first watch, but when Geena tells Craig "You will die screaming, and I will watch." Her daughter in the movie's eyes are shooting laser beams at Craig. Great Game Face!

2025-08-09 07:00:52 +0000 UTCOne other thing I held off on saying until I was sure you'd watched the movie and therefore completely forgot to say was that it was fitting that you watched Grosse Pointe Blank the same week, another movie about highly trained assassins intermingling with normal civilian life. Also, just as an aside: I've liked all the Reactr requests to date but I think this is maybe my new favorite.

2025-04-27 17:30:42 +0000 UTCSam Jackson has said on numerous occasions that this is his favorite of his own movies and that he will watch it if he comes across it on T V or something. Although their marriage actually fell apart during the making of this movie, Geena Davis was married to director Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger) while making this. They made two action movies together, the other being the pirate film Cutthroat Island. I only watched it last year, and it's also plenty of fun, even though it's not as good as this. Both movies were box office bombs, and Cutthroat Island actually did so poorly, it was the reason no other studio made a pirate movie until Pirates of the Caribbean (which was also considered a huge risk as a result of this legacy), and it also bankrupted Carolco Pictures. The actor who played Samantha's daughter, Yvonne Zima, had a cameo as one of the beauty pageant contestants in Iron Man 3. In addition to her acting, Geena Davis founded the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, which studies female representation in movies and television.
