I absolutely loved this trilogy! The cause-and-effect thinking continues to be my favorite thing about the entire chaotic ride. How every small action has rippling consequences. But this final movie brought something even more special to the entire story- Love. Seeing Doc, a man so dedicated to science and time travel, actually fall in love took me by surprise in the best way! His relationship with Clara added a whole new emotional depth that turned Doc's character into so much more than just Marty's eccentric mentor. It gave his character a sense of completeness that I didn't even realize he was missing, and by the end of it all, it felt like the perfect way to wrap up his entire journey.

The Old West setting was so much fun, and it still managed to keep everything I love about Back to the Future alive during all of it! And I think what stuck with me the most from this final chapter was how much heart it had. Seeing Doc finally get his own happy ending made the whole trilogy feel like his story was just as important as Marty's all along. The perfect sendoff to a series that has completely won me over!

okay, so only joined recently. I loved watching these films growing up, always on tv over Xmas. I only realized today that the sheriff was in the teacher from the previous films. Not sure if its already been said, But in the first film Hewie Lewis (who sung the power of love) was the one who told Marty he was too loud. There was also a kids animated series based on after the movies, with the train and his family

Daniel King

does anyone know why i cant watch this with double voices ?

Andres Castro

Back to the Future 2 is my favorite one as well!

Jonathan

Fantastic reaction! It's so good to have you back, Kali! Watching movies with you just makes me smile. 😊 Others have pointed out some of the Easter eggs, but something that hasn't yet been mentioned is the similarity of Marty's clothing, lines, and even some physical movements to the classic Clint Eastwood westerns! Someday you'll have to watch A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (1966) if you want to see the genesis of that character. 🐎

Phil Stubblefield

Great reaction! And I agree with you, my personal favorite is part 2. Part 3 is good, but it really feels like a standalone film (though it's still obviously connected). Glad you're feeling better! Matt

Matt Rowland

I think part 3 is my favorite, if not then it's tied with 1. I don't really care for 2, I hate bullies, and Biff sucks.

Doug Watson

I'm pretty sure "The Power of Love" is in 85% of all 1980's movies.

Doug Watson

For as much as I liked the future setting in the second film, I absolutely loved 1885 in this one! And I think a lot of that is just because of allll the Red Dead vibes haha. Marty's first experiences in the wild west being coming across a bear and then taking a tumble down the side of a hill took me back to your RDR2 playthrough LOL. With all that said tho, I think the second movie ends up being my favorite! Mostly just because, like you, I love all the cause and effect scenarios, and that film with all the past / present / future time hopping really explored that the most. But each movie has its own special charms! I love how the stories of these movies are set up. They're set up to be so predictable (in the best of ways), with all the repeating themes, characters, and story arcs between the time periods. That kind of helps ground us amidst all the chaos. But then when they pull some twists and punches, they just hit that much harder as a result. Great writing! So good to see you back up, feeling better and recording! I didn't hear any sniffles, coughs or anything else during this reaction, so all good there haha. Hope the last phase of your recovery is quick!

What an awesome fun trilogy for you to have under your belt! Your enjoyment comes through clearly in your reactions; a little happiness to crush the last vestiges of that nasty cold 😂. Not that many franchises have an actual true trilogy because so many of them inevitably kept going back to the well for more money. Mission Impossible is up to 8 movies I think, although that one has kept the quality high.

Richard

well they could have just left the area and gone to a refinery tannen would have no clue where they went. also he built that giant compressor out of barn components so he seems to have a solid mastery of thermodynamics a boiler shouldnt be to crazy.

rubberkidney

I've seen this movie about a million times, and I just now learned that was ZZ Top

Chris Truex

100%. I love this movie

Chris Truex

I've always thought about this, but to fair, he has like 4-5 days. Even Doc may struggle to create usable gasoline (and he would never be stupid enough to put whiskey in the engine). OTOH, time travel, so :D

Chris Truex

Can I just say, you've gotten the syncing down to a science, it's much appreciated! The reaction is great too :D BTW, I agree that the stove door was risky, but it's a direct reference to A Fistful Of Dollars, where Clint Eastwood's character pulls the exact same trick

Hi Kali, Well it’s just 3 movies with Marvel. And maybe 4th one coming. In actual fact, Eddie and Peter know eachother since highschool. But Eddie hated Peter. Venom is a villain in Marvel's Spiderman. He also known as his host Eddie Brock. He hates Spiderman because he thinks he is the cause of all the bad luck in his life. Venom is bigger and stronger then Spiderman. And so I guess they and Marvel decided to show the other side of Eddie and Venom, that he isn’t bad really. If you like Spiderman then basically these movies are a trilogy of Venom. 👍🏾😇

Evert Jethoe

Omg so true!!

Kali Wali

Yess! I love how Doc's character really comes out in this one. It makes going back to 1 seem that much more enjoyable knowing what we know now ✨

Kali Wali

OMG that's so scary! Glad he ended up being okay 😭👀 When a stunt goes wrong... sheesh And I totally missed ZZ Top!! I was so excited to jump into this one after my time off because it felt like a great way to get back into recording. But I feel like the sickness brain fog really made me miss a lot more this reaction unfortunately.. Just makes a rewatch in my future that much more enjoyable I guess! Thank you for the Easter Eggs so I can see them next time!

Kali Wali

Yes 100% about Doc and I loved that!!

Kali Wali

I loooove this cat cup ❤️ I believe it was purchased off Etsy!

Kali Wali

I've never heard of The Venom trilogy! I'd love to get back into gaming again soon. I'm hoping to get back to it sometime :)

Kali Wali

I can totally see how over time, my favorite of the three may shift to 3 being my favorite too. There was just something extra wholesome and beautiful about it! The other 2 were great though, and I totally have BttF2 as my top right now!

Kali Wali

Glad to be back! Enjoy!

Kali Wali

🤣🤣🤣

Kali Wali

hahaha oh my

Kali Wali

Ahhh! Thank you for helping me place Strickland and his 'discipline' line lol. I was wondering if it was the boss for a minute but knew I had it wrong then. I've also heard that Thomas F. Wilson is a great guy a lot! Now that I'm done with the trilogy I'll have to look up some of his interviews that I've heard people talk about.

Kali Wali

doc 100% could have got gas, he could have built a boiler to refine his own or obtained some from already existing kerosene refineries at the time where gasoline was produced but viewed as a useless by-product. gasoline engine was invented in 1885 actually.

rubberkidney

I love all three but I think my order is 3 > 1 > 2. Doc's character shines the most in 3. Its really close tho.

Farbod

Hi Kali, glad you are feeling better. I was also glad to see you drop something on my day off (selfish as I am). A couple of interesting? things. The scene where Mad Dog Tannan strings Marty up with a rope went wrong on the set and actually choked Michael J. Fox out. He almost got hung for real! Also, not sure if you recognized them but the band at the festival was actually ZZ Top. Lastly, the ravine was named Eastwood ravine in present day because of the train crash. Glad to see you up and about!

John A

I love the 3rd movie. The first two movies are about Marty. This movie is about Doc. Love the western theme

Louis Melendez

Thank you for sharing. On a side note I'm going to travel from the UK to nick your Cat Cup. I love it and want one. 🤪😘

PHILLIP CORNISH

Hi Kali, I always liked the Back to the Future movies. It’s a movie for me when I was like 14 years. Could you please play The Venom Trilogy?. 3 movies and also watch after the credits to see some future info. 👍🏾😇🌺

Evert Jethoe

When I was growing up with these films I would always put BttF2 as my favourite. But over the years I think 3 has supplanted it at the top of the list. Unfortunately I'm stuck at work for a few more hours yet but I'm very excited to check watch this reaction when I get home.

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

Excited for this one. Btw one of the kids at the end was trying to call someone over and pointed at his winky because he had to go to the bathroom. They mentioned it in the directors commentary 😂

TheJoeKerr

Welcome back, Kali ^_^ Glad you're feeling better. Looking forward to watching this later tonight.

Dude Longcouch

Your Back to the Future III reaction is up! Great Scott!

David Olden

My favourite trilogy. It's so rewatchable. Random aside - Thomas F. Wilson who plays the various Tannens is by most accounts a really nice guy. He's also overlooked in his talent playing the different Tannens, whether it's an ancestor, descendant, or the different Biffs changed by the cause & effect of time travel. (Deputy Strickland is the ancestor of Principal Strickland btw. Same actor 😂)
