WandaVision | Episode 2 | Full Reaction

The charming sitcom continues, but with subtle shifts in time and SO much symbolism behind every commercial, outfit choice, and line. I loved the playful energy of Wanda and Vision's magic show 'for the children' lol. But the creeping sense of unease kept getting stronger and stronger for me between the random helicopter in the yard, the strange voice on the radio, and the eerie interactions (especially with that Dottie lady). Something is definitely bubbling beneath the surface here and it left me even more intrigued. Who is trying to reach Wanda? And who or what is really controlling this world?

WandaVision | Episode 2 | Full Reaction

Comments

This series is a mindblowingly good effort from Disney+/Marvel. I love seeing your confusion and then the gears turning (reminds me of me watching - except it took me a little longer to start to ask the right questions that you already have)! Keep at it!

Matthew Murdick

AHHH now I can't unsee and I must fix it later tonight πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ Thank you for pointing it out!

Kali Wali

If I'm the first, I apologize, if not, I apologize. But on the sidebar it says "First watch Aong" not along.

Christopher Laverdure

The next episode will be critical for you to be able to finalize your theories because it's all made clear by episodes 4 and 5. But once the real theme of the show is revealed, I'll be fascinated to get your take on it. It's probably a deeper dive than any previous MCU product. Also love the new filming angle! Is that a permanent change? Most important of all, can you taste food yet?

Richard

That look at the end of the "previously on" that you gave what's funny. I was mistaken in my comment for the last show that I thought it was based on bewitched, but this one is based on bewitched. The way Dottie controls everything is so annoying, I could never be part of a hoa. I loved big red and juicy fruit and fruit stripes lol I said it before but you were meant to be a content reactor. They way you pick up on little things and your insight into what is happening is sooooooo good! Also, super glad you are feeling better!

I love watching Kali’s genius IQ at work! Is there such a thing as a 4-digit IQ? πŸ˜‚

Richard

One of the best things about your reactions is how you notice so many little things and can predict what is happening and/or have insightful comments that I never thought of. I've grown used to saying "I never saw that coming", and in 2 episodes so far the fact that you are so lost yet still picking up on little things is amazing to watch! The first 10 seconds on the 1st episode I could see your mind churning trying to comprehend and yet you were still lost - no offense, it's just that is exactly how we all felt the first time we saw it too! I said in my other comment you need to rewatch this after the season is over, and I stand by that - all the little things happening and even a lot you don't pick up on (but I can tell make you confused like little things that Wanda or Vision or even Agnes have said) will make so much more sense to you. Thanks for such a fun journey!

I feel like WandaVision was made specifically for me. I love Marvel, I love weird shows, and I have a great appreciation for television history, especially sitcoms. For me, this is the perfect mini-series.

Brian Leonard

I love that! I'm glad I could point out some things that you missed the first watch through!! Big Red. BLAH lol. I think my hate for it is because my dad used to chew it allllll the time and I just remember sitting in the car on the way to/from school dying from the smell πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ But Juicy Fruit was soooo good! For the 2 seconds it lasted haha. Then it just turned into fruit flavored cardboard so fast

Kali Wali

Sooo many questions in these first two episodes! I guess in a way I'm living with the pain of waiting a week for 2 episodes now too haha. I wanted to watch the third already, but decided to hold off still. So addicting!

Wandavision was a really huge leap into the unknown for Marvel, and it had us in a full stunlock when this show aired. They released these episodes once per week, so the waiting game was really excruciating when things like this came on, making you have so many questions and so little answers. Just a couple fun facts about these episodes, the sitcom style takes some inspiration from real sitcoms that are appropriate to the time period. The first episode is based off of Dick Van Dyke, and this episode is very much like Bewitched. I love all the classic gags they pull like holding floating dishes by wires, Wanda here trying to hide her magical nature with explaining away Visions powers with practical stuff. I can't really say much about this other than, there's not really a show like Wandavision in the MCU, this was such a unique experience and man it was worth it! See you next week for more episodes!

I hope you enjoy!! ✨

Yes! So, honestly I knew the name Strucker was significant, and remember his name but couldn't put a face to it with the commercial right away. It wasn't until I was editing this for Patreon that I remember who exactly Strucker was.. The guy from The Winter Soldier and Ultron. The guy that experimented on Wanda and her brother!

Thank you for this!!

It doesn't come as a surprise for me with how familiar I am with your content, but you've been soooo observant through these first two episodes! You're picking up on a lot of stuff that I completely missed on my first watch. And like any good mystery story, it's been super cool watching through this now for a second time with you, and seeing things in a completely different perspective! Also, have to point out that I also absolutely hated Big Red gum as a kid LOL. Juicy Fruit and any kind of watermelon bubblegum were always my go-to's haha

M1 Maz

The confused looks and the questions you have through the first 2 episodes is so relatable to my first watch. If I remember correctly the first 2 episodes were released on the launch day and waiting a whole week between episodes was torture.

TheJoeKerr

It's been a while since I (re)watched this show. This is gonna be fun!

Onno Smits

MCU nerd here. Couple things. In this commercial, did you notice the name of the watch? It was a Strucker watch. Do you remember who Strucker was? I was born in 65. Most of the TV shows of the 60s started out in black n white. Then when color was possible, they switched to color. Bewitched started in black n white in 1964. Then went to color in 1966.

Lawrence Gibson

This is one show I can't say a word about for awhile. Enjoy the ride.

Remember, this is NOT a spoiler. End and mid-credit scenes begin episode 7 8 and 9

Jonathan

Just a heads up, Kali. Marvel even puts end and mid credit scenes into their TV. For WandaVision, stay for extra scenes after episodes 7, 8, and 9 (there are 2 scenes for #9). Really looking forward to what’s to come in this series! πŸ™‚
