Making Better Videos

A little behind the scenes look at what is going on. Being successful on YouTube these days is much harder than it was 5 years ago. Production values matter, as does editing techniques. The trend of multiple angles and cuts every 15 to 20 seconds is a thing on YouTube, at least with the videos that do well, and I doubt it will change in the future. Video makers have taken techniques from movies and TV and are applying them to their videos. To succeed, I must do that as well. So, I've added a third camera to the mix to make better videos for you.

Thanks for being a patron and the next video is being scripted and side experiments are done, so filming should begin this week and the topic is Chocolate Syrup and it is a good one because we are going to take the original patent for Bosco's Chocolate Syrup and make it ourselves, it uses one extra ingredient but that one ingredient makes all the difference.

Thanks. My goal is to make "drink-making" simple and not just about mixing juices and liquor. And it has been challenging, but I like that. The production quality was a first step, the glass lightboard was one another, and now more camera angles/cuts is next. Thanks for noticing though, it is appreciated.

Excited to see what content you come up with next. I was impressed by your video production right away, I love how you write on the glass, very nice effect.

No editing team, just 3 tripods :) From a production standpoint, a lot of the work happens before I even turn the cameras on because I always do a test run or two of whatever ingredient I make before I film. And then it's about making it simple and interesting, and as you say, cuts cuts cuts. Engagement is important because if people don't watch the video, they won't understand the nuances of making soda. So the third camera is to get engagement higher and give the videos some more visual interest. We'll see how it goes.
