"Rang De Basanti"'s literal translation is "paint me with the colours of spring". It is a festive/patriotic song honouring the unrelenting passion of India's freedom fighters. Though they may bow their heads in disappointment at the current state of affairs of the country they gave their lives for, here's hoping that sanity prevails and the commoner finally sees through the thick yet brittle veil of religion-based politics.
