Catherine Tate is a very funny comedian and by far the most animated and silly companion we've had. And yet, her second and third episodes had incredibly serious overtones. I think it's such a credit to her that she can carry such emotional moments in one scene and then make me laugh out loud in the next one. I'd love if the next companion (I'm talking about current day) had a comedy background because when I'm rewatching these Donna episodes with you, it just makes me realize what life that injects into an episode.

2024-11-20 08:13:45 +0000 UTCThis is a really complex and deep episode, but really well done and well written. Most Doctor Who episodes are PG or PG-12, but to fit that rating the scene where he becomes an Ood actually had to be toned down. It was originally much more graphic and intense.
