In Slavic beliefs, an ominous demon inhabiting water reservoirs, considered the partner of a drowned man. The drowned girl was the soul of a young girl who drowned out of despair or grief, or was drowned intentionally by someone.
Drowned girls appeared in the form of young girls with long fair hair. By calling for help or singing, they lured young men, whom they then drowned.
