Maken X (DC)
Added 2024-10-09 07:00:09 +0000 UTCThis is my first foray into the Shin Megami Tensei series on the channel. Although, Maken X is more of a tiny tributary branching off from the larger body of SMT works, so really just dipping my toe into it with this one.
SMT is a series I've appreciated from afar, but never really enjoyed playing. Well, that's not entirely true. I like Nocturne and SMT IV, as well as the Raidou Kuzunoha games. Several people have also recommended Digital Devil Saga to me, but I haven't played those yet. Maybe I need to remedy that...
Anyway, that discussion is for another time. For now I hope you enjoy Maken X.

I think I only ever finished it once as I found enemies that are smaller than you so hard to attack as you need to stop and look down. One of the examples of a DC game that really could have done with a second analogue stick. Hopefully one day we'll get a re-release that will add such a feature. If you've any hints of how to deal with them in the meantime, though, I'd love to hear 'em!
