Chapter 3: The process

Hey yall, I'm coming at you with a small snippet as well as sharing my experiences as a writer because I think it's interesting to talk about.

And since yall are the tiers that get a behind the scenes look...

I figured why not share what goes on when I'm drafting?

So let's talk a little bit about it.

For me when I write, I usually try to have a scene in mind and an end goal for that scene.

In this case I was writing an immediate bad end as I typically do for YOU and HIM in particular because I thought it would be a fun opportunity.

But as with how they've gone many times before...

The intent of the scene didn't go in a direction I originally planned for it to and got a bit lost because I could no longer do what I was aiming for.

And to be honest, I was a bit frustrated.

I now didn't even know if I could continue writing out this option for players because I'd lost my original intent due to the fact that Adam responded on his own.

It sucked!

Well...I tried to tackle it a bit more.

The second attempt didn't work.

But then I did a third attempt and this time I realized WHY things had changed.

In the originalscene/ending you were admittedly supposed to break out of the hospital you're staying in and meet a cruel fate.

Your typical standard fare, I'd say, when you play one of my games.

This new addition, though, doesnt bring in an immediate gruesome end.

What it DOES do, I feel, adds a bit more depth overall to what the current player character would realistically experience in a situation like this.

And I think it grounds the story for the better.

So...

Thanks to my character admittedly derailing my original intent and goal, it's allowing for me to explore a more interesting option for both me-and you as the player-to explore.
