This is one of my absolute favorites, and I’m so happy you’re enjoying it so much. 🥰 I get super excited alongside you, and it brings back the feeling I had when I first watched it. I was sitting here giggling because I knew that POV switch was coming. 🤣 I know some people didn’t like Kiyoi, but I LOVE him and thought he was being so obvious—so when that shift came, I was screaming, “I knew it!!” 🤣 It’s such a nice show to rewatch once you have the whole picture, since throughout the series there are so many little things you might not pick up on at first. Hira is a very unreliable narrator, and I loved the visual storytelling in this just as much as the narration. When this aired, I spent my time in comment sections appreciating and analyzing all those small details. It’s such a beautiful show!

Never stop (as long as there's no spoilers in them of course) <3 , and the point of the platform is to build a community as well, feel free to add things to the debate chat also, if you want to that is! Actually, I could open a chat for BL Analysis, as I think it would be interesting. Need to sort out those chats this weekend anyway.

Hey Fabi, please let me know if you’d like me to stop sharing my analyses. I don’t mean to overtake your platform, just mean to start discussion. Thank you for another amazing video! When Kiyoi states that he doesn’t know what Hira is thinking, it’s likely that he’s saying that because everything Hira says is performative devotion. At the end of the day, Kiyoi doesn’t know if he genuinely exists to Hira and he knows next to nothing about the true Hira. It’s not about what is said, but rather what is left unsaid, and emotionally remains just out of reach despite their consistent close proximity. When it comes to Kiyoi physically assaulting Hira, there is no excuse good enough to make it acceptable. However, it may be interesting to understand the foundation of ‘why’ he hits Hira and only Hira. Starting in childhood, he wanted to be like the people inside the tv because they were loved by millions. We can infer from that and his behaviour patterns that Kiyoi had a neglected childhood in some form, which would lead to his desire for admiration from others. Then considering how his classmates acted, they loved him, they got bored of him, they hated him, all based on how popular and ‘beautiful’ he was in media. As such, that is the first step to Kiyoi desperately wanting someone to see HIM as a person. Kiyoi’s aggression likely stems from reactive aggression because Hira’s reverence feels inauthentic, thus continuing the feeling of false affection. Hira’s opinion means more because Kiyoi actually cares what Hira thinks, unlike when his superficial classmate friends acted poorly towards him. I would guess that is why his physical anger is only directed at Hira.
