Glory (1989)

This movie was not what I expected it to be at all.
In this movie we follow the American Civil War and Shaw was an officer to lead the first all African-American regiment!
This really show alot of character development for all the men in this movie, as well as a bunch of emotional scenes.

What a movie this was ❤️

Good points about desertion. She reacted to Master and Commander last year.

An absolutely gripping reaction Ms Kamilla. The reason for the emotional reactions to medical is because we ( im a cardiac nurse) are empaths. We connect. We care. We want to heal. Thank you for choosing a medical career ❤

Hey so just to clarify something about the whipping scene. Desertion, running away, which they thought he was doing, during time of war, is one of the worst crimes someone in the military can commit. Throughout history it usually meant the death penalty including during the civil war when it was death by hanging. Occasionally an officer could slightly lesson the sentence but usually to something really bad like life in prison or “flogging” which is what they called whipping. Which if done in large amounts was sometimes fatal anyways. So in this case Shaw is actually being nice by not giving him the death penalty in this case. His hands are kinda tied. Also Denzel Washington won his first Oscar for best supporting actor for this movie. I also very much recommend if you haven’t scene it the movie Master and Commander:The far Side of the World, which while not a true story is a very historically accurate movie about the war on the seas during the Napoleonic wars around the year 1800 also you should find it interesting as one of the main characters is a Doctor. If you already saw it my bad!
