Models releases will resume in a few days
Added 2023-10-03 18:59:52 +0000 UTCHi everyone,
Just wanna let you know that I'm back and working on models again but I need a bit of time to finish some global updates. The few posts from september might have given another impression but I did pretty much nothing during my break.
Releases will probably resume somewhere next week.
What I'm currently working on is "under the hood" stuff that I can't necessarily showcase but here's a few :
- made some progress with transferring the G9 textures to G8. I lost some time on trial and error as I'm still experimenting. It also requires some manual fixing. So far I have the specular and a good portion of normal maps done.
- updated the body materials for upcoming models to take into account those new textures.
- made some changes to the UI, adding some dropdown menus to make it less cluttered by default (extras collections for instance can be folded now).
- removed something like 50 drivers for morphs on my default body, and updated the UI to read both old and new morphs addresses. It may or may not improve performance a little bit...it's a step anyway.
- fixed an armature issue causing toe bones not moving because of constraints' parameters
- fixed the elf ears selection from the UI because it was not working.
- duplicated all the previous changes on the 4.0 version of the UI.
This will lead to the first shared textures update since about a year.
Cheers

The new normals offer much more details than the current ones that's for sure.

2023-10-03 22:30:08 +0000 UTCHow often do you check how things work on the older models? I ask because I'm finding several features that aren't working on the Becca model, namely the IK/FK. For the life of me, no matter what combination of IK/FK buttons I toggle, her knees won't bend, and most of the body movements are FK, but not all. Since I'm asking questions, what's the workaround to not have to "External Data -> Find Missing Files" (twice, for the default textures, and then again for the model specific textures)? Thank you!
