If Veterans Ruled the World | Starship Troopers

The Starship Troopers movie has long been accused of being an unfaithful adaptation of the book, but its politics match the sci-fi military classic more closely than you may realize.

Played the game quite a bit, before the movie came out.

I also loved reading ST in college, and I don't know how anyone can think the movie is pro war in anyway.

He had to make an edit due to a copyright issue. It's back up now.

Another great vid. Have seen the movie a couple times, have not read the book though I should. Heinlein is an interesting author; his "And He Built a Crooked House" from 1941 is a fascinating look at a 4d home.

Did this get taken down?

Fixing a copyright issue before the final release.

This was great to watch. Starship Troopers has been one of my favourite books for a long time, much as I disagree with the political message underlying it. I was amused that you said we might not like a reboot of the movie based more faithfully on the book as all our favourite things aren't in the book, because I read the book years before I came across the movie, and (for me at least) I'm rather indifferent to the things you listed. I realised while watching your video that modern day China could just as easily fit the definition of fascism that you gave, which makes the concept of fascism more about authoritarianism than anything else. I think the word fascism/fascist has been really overused lately, but the nationalistic aspect is part of the definition, at least in two of three dictionaries that I consulted.

this might be my new favourite video of yours.

Also a US Amy vet (tehehehe) AND SST fan (and read the book in mid school and the lot). Gonna love this video? Let's see...
