You're right about this show going back to the earlier season feels. The plots felt connected and constantly left the characters in dramatic positions, I personally feel we started to see a dip in quality around season 5 but that's not to say the seasons that followed were bad (actually yes, season 8 was bad), it just felt like the characters were going on separate journeys and the writers only ever threw them together when the plot could squeeze them in. This season just feels like a more jam-packed version of the earlier seasons, which is a good way to end the show, as it brings a lot of emotional moments (I cried nearly this whole ep from Logan, to Chuck, back to Logan, and then back to Chuck, One Tree Hill has mercy for no character, young or old). I will say though, just an episode or two more with Dan, Deb, and Haley interacting and talking about how far they've all come since the beginning of the show would've been so cool.

Honestly at this point they should just set Dan on Xavier too... I'm sure he'd be happy to help out. I mean, not only is Brooke part of the family (he knows Nathan and Haley consider her family, he helped out Quinn and Clay because they're their family, so he'd happily help Brooke too!) but also Julian has been helping him find Nathan. I'm sure he'd be able to do SOMETHING to take care of that problem. The Police SUCK and I would be going back to them EVERY SINGLE TIME he showed up. No matter what. Whether he just walked by and looked in the window, or when he showed up in the Cafe, or the threat there, I would be going to the Police every single time until they did something about him. Honestly, when he was in the Cafe, I would've ignored him, gone to the back and called the Police instantly. I don't care if he's just eating, he's not welcome. Like, they said it's a small town and all but there is literally a Cafe just across the road and he still chose to go into Brooke's and eat instead of going to that one. (The other one is way too close still, but like still!!) But yeah, I'd go to the Police every time he showed up and I would not ever let them forget that they were letting my assaulter stalk me... They say they can't do anything until he's actually committed a crime, but HE HAS! He has committed multiple crimes and should not have been let out of Prison... I adore the dynamic between Chase, Chuck and Chris so much. (And I love that all their names start with Ch... Haha) Chase and Chris are basically Chuck's dads and I love it. I love how Chase wasn't upset with Chuck at all and was just worried about him, I love how worried Chris was about Chase and I love his talk with Chuck and how he told him he should be trying to be like Chase not him, and I love Chuck coming to the rescue and telling the truth in the end. It's a shame Chase still got discharged, but at least it wasn't a dishonourable discharge and at least he didn't end up in Prison. The cut from Chris saying that Chase didn't deserve to go to Prison to Brooke and Julian talking about how Xavier should be in Prison HURT. Because it's true. Chase was discharged from the Air Force and almost went to Prison just for defending a child, and yet Xavier literally murdered a child and assaulted Brooke and he's just out living his life however he wants, going around threatening her. It's so fucked up... I feel so bad for both Clay and Logan. Poor Logan was left for 6 years, of course it's gonna take time for him to get past it when his Dad comes back. But then poor Clay didn't mean to do it and it's probably such a kick while he's down. To learn he has a son who he abandoned because of how traumatic his wife's death was, and then for him to reject him when he comes back. I don't blame Logan though, that must be so hard. It's such a complicated situation because it's not Clay's fault, but Logan has every right to feel upset and abandoned, because he was... :'( Haley is a badass this episode! Her leading that guy out and then just standing there with her back turned as Dan beats the shit outta him, SO HOT!! And then her just beating on him too and Dan letting her. AGH!
