So I actually just came back to finish watching this ep. I've been a reader and you are correct, there should have been the story from when he was a kid in his home village with red haired Shanks. I heard about One Pace and I believe it should more true to the manga as it cuts all the fillers from the anime. This anime seems to adapt some parts on their own. From my research I'd say doing One Pace should be the better option since it's like the remastered version. I watched the live action too and it was quite good, though there were some parts different it was fun enough to make people interested which I think served the purpose just fine. If you finished the live action, then you are done with the first arc East Blue and will be heading into Grand Line. I heard there's a new studio remaking the entire anime, and I'm hoping it would be a better adaptation than this one. This orginal anime especially in the early arcs which is over 20yrs old are not flashy like newer anime like Dan Da Dan or Demon Slayer, but if you stick it out once the story starts going deep it would all be worth it. So, I'd say either do One Pace as you will get everything from the original anime minus the fillers or maybe wait out for the new remake version, which we don't even know how good it'll really be 😂
