Bonus Art - Bath Time

Hello! As promised, I'm back with the first (of hopefully several) bonus illustrations throughout this feature-packed month!

For this first piece we have a squeaky-clean snek enjoying a nice soak in the tub. No doubt after a long day at the lab torturing all her poor specimens. Hey, it's a living!

I was quite excited to revisit Lucille for this piece and plan something for her, as I've always had a soft spot for that crafty lamia, and jump at any opportunity I can to put her into a steamy (quite literally in this case) illustration! A lot of care was taken into making sure we had the angle just right for this one, and giving a nice, comfy sort of feeling where you can really imagine her relaxing and soaking in the tub.

This is sort of alternate reality, since she's in a more modern-day bath rather than the swamps--but I think it was for the best just for variation, since we already had a nice illustration of her relaxing in her house. Just pretend it's promotional material for the Quest Failed spin-off where all the girls invade the modern world. Gosh, what a story that would be!

I'm quite fond of how nice and shiny her, ahem, 'assets' turned out here--along with how just enough is shown to entice, without revealing too much. Because you gotta love a good tease, right? I also like the attention to detail with how her tail snakes in and out of the bathtub--because I guess conventional bathtubs just can't contain Lucille in all her majesty!

And yes, okay...the ducks. I'll talk about the ducks. They were probably the first thing your eyes were drawn to, aside from the naked, lounging lamia. When the idea of a bath illustration was thrown around between me and the artist, and I DEMANDED that we have ducks of some sort, haha. Since, it's just a little addition--and let me customize each of them to be someone involved in Lucille's life in some way. I understand the ducks probably straddle the line between looking absurd and/or cursed, but hey, I love them, haha. Ruby Duckie is looking especially ticked off. Is it because she's been forced into a bathtub with her mortal enemy--or is it because she's facing away from the action? Maybe both.
