RWBY: The Heart is Pierced, and The Spear is Thrusted

CHAPTER 4

-

Seems that people really hate him being close to their "idol."

*SPLASH!*

A sudden splash of water drenched him wet as students around the hallway started laughing like the little bitches they were.

Azul just shrugged it off, there wasn't much need to waste his time with them.

Making sure that his backpack was dry since notebooks filled with ideas and combat strategies were inside before walking away to his dorm room, ignoring the insults that were shooting at him.

Pyrrha was currently out of town, as she was busy doing model work for some fashion companies that wanted the 2-time Mistral Regional Tournament Champion to sponsor them.

Her dad and mom didn't even bother to ask for the girl's consent before they accepted the offer, which ticked him. He knew that her parents were thinking of her future, but damn were they annoying.

Shaking his hair to get the water droplets out of his hair, he thanked God for the small mercies, the kids used normal tap water from the taste. Bullies in his world would have used something like soda or toilet water.

He turned the corner of the hallway to see his lone, worn down dorm door with paint splattered all over, with words reading "Fuck off" and "Exploiter" written all over the door.

He wasn't surprised when the custodian just walked past his door without a care.

There was a reason why he didn't use his room when discussing stuff with Pyrrha, he usually went to her big dorm room. He didn't need Pyrrha to be distracted with these things, she needed to train.

Unlocking the door with his ID card, he entered and made sure that the door was locked before dropping his backpack, his eyes scanning his 150 square feet room.

Pyrrha's was so much bigger, a whopping 800 square feet room with a dedicated, fancy bathroom and bathtub, a dedicated kitchen area to cook any meals since the refrigerator was stocked daily, courtesy of the school staff, and a dedicated bedroom with a king-size bed and a nice closet.

Did he mention that she even had a huge living room with a cute coffee table and 2 sofas, AND had more space to allocate an exercising space?

Another reason why he really hated society. The rich thrives, huh? The treatment is so visible.

Thank fuck Pyrrha's the way she was. So kind. Small mercies are what set worlds apart.

Well, at least he had a room, though much smaller than most students. Pyrrha offered to let him stay in her room, hell no. Even if it was kind of her, it felt wrong to live in a girl's room without paying anything, more so when she isn't going to be present for two weeks straight.

Wait, he was training her, maybe it can be payment to live in her living room?

Nah, feels wrong.

Sighing, he quickly took a quick shower and wore his pajamas before flopping on his bed slash couch, taking a quick nap.

Man, he hoped Pyrrha comes back, he needed an outlet or else he'd lose his mind and Gáe Bolg everyone. He needed his punching b— training partner.

Though, she's been absorbing the training like a fucking sponge on steroids.

Now, even if Cú Chulainn trained in the Land of Shadows for just over a year, he was a monster, and his training reflected it.

Non-stop fighting against the Witch of Dún Scáith for 6 days straight, except when it was time to eat, and then a day of rest. Rest as in fighting monsters in the Land of Shadows and 5 hours of sleep before repeating everything again for over a year without stop.

It took him 10 years to get to this level, and Pyrrha was now close to matching him, a fake with 5% of peak Cú strength. He'll give it 1 year, 2 max, for her to catch up to him.

What a monster. Her potential was so fucking high its making him cry at the inequality. The damn genes of a genius sure is frightening.

Cinder wouldn't know what hit her. Hard.

Just thinking of the bitch's face when Pyrrha goes all out caused him to cackle at the thought before he falls into Morbius' realm.

Pyrrha Nikos POV

In their third year, students were finally allowed to face the Creatures of Grimm.

Creatures of the Dark, Grimm were monsters that hunted humans and faunus, they do not discriminate. They only have one goal in their existence, chaos.

They had multiple abilities depending on the species, but the only universal ability they have is to sense negative emotions, and they were drawn to it like a moth to a flame.

When grading Grimm, there were 5 total grades.

Omega — Grimm that were the weakest in terms of species. They were easy to kill, but big in numbers like Beowolves.

Beta — The same danger level from Omega, just stronger and less in numbers, though still enough for a Huntsman to handle alone.

Alpha — The leader of a pack of Grimm. They were the strongest in terms of the normal 3 grades that Huntsman face on a regular basis. They were low in numbers, but instead they had higher base physical parameters like strength, and endurance.

The three grades above cover 90% of the Grimm population, from the words of famous scientist Dr. Moon Grayson. The other two grades however, were Grimm that were so powerful that even an ordinary team is not enough for a single one.

Delta — They look like normal Grimm, but the main distinction were the yellow and black lines that form on the mask of said Grimm. They were thrice as powerful as an Alpha grade Grimm, and had unique abilities that ranged from beams created to even mutations that grant weapons.

But worst of all Grimm were the final class, a total 0.01% of the Grimm population. It was said that there were only 5000 of them in the growing 5,000,000 population of Grimm that surround their world.

The Zeta grade Grimm.

There were only 4 known species of said grade, but each species are known to command a part of nature.

Zeta — Grimm that even veteran Huntsmen were given the orders to run upon sighting one. They were 10 times as strong and fast as a Delta Grimm, 20 times as durable, and worse of all, they were intelligent. What was even more terrifying about Zeta grade Grimm were their abilities.

Psychic Zeta grade Grimm, they could manipulate objects around them, causing attacks to be nigh impossible to land.

Blast Zeta grade Grimm, they could create explosions from their skin constantly without harming themselves, creating craters in their wake.

Nightmare Zeta grade Grimm, they cause hallucinations and nightmares that were so horrible that most Huntsmen commit suicide upon looking at it in the eye.

And the most gruesome one, Berserker.

Berserker Zeta grade Grimm, they possess the ability of hyper regeneration. They will never stop going forward, and had caused major damages to humanity.

Why was she noting all this down even when she had already known about them years before their lecturer was teaching them? After listening to her father days of her father's accomplishments of killing a Psychic Zeta grade with his team?

Azul was asleep in the Bullhead that they were on.

He was a deep sleeper that usually wouldn't wake up even if she smacked him in the head. Somehow, he always manages to wake up in time before the teacher calls him, but still as his friend and student, she notes down everything to share with him.

N-Not that she liked him or anything! No, never! Not Azul, the one that looked at her for her.

She needed him to pass and avoid repeating the year, that's all!

Y-Yes, a good reason indeed!

Slapping her face with both hands, she takes a few quick breaths of air before gripping on her shield. Today, they were out in Mistral-G zone 4, a regular zone for Huntsmen to train their combat skills against Omega and Beta grade Grimm.

And this was going to be her first time fighting the Grimm.

To say that she was excited was an overstatement.

She was born, she was molded, she was created just for this purpose. Yes, she had been training for years to fight against the Grimm, to be a beacon of hope. She will be a Huntsman, even if she had to die for it —

"Your hands are shaking."

Her head looks up to see the violent red eyes that haunts her dreams.

Azul was awake, and was staring at her with seriousness that she only see in training.

Looking down, she could see the shaking of her free hand, with her left arm on the shield, its grip so tight that her knuckles turned white.

She gave him a perfect "smile".

"Well, I'm quite excited for this!"

He just stared before nodding, closing his eyes and resting his head on the cushion of the chair.

"... You're strong as fuck, but remember. You're only human."

She froze. Looking at her side.

But with that piece said, she heard the familiar snore of her friend.

She looked down at her hand once more before clenching it tightly, stopping the tremble with tensing her muscles. She buried the emotions that were rising in her chest.

She had to. For the sake of her father, her mother, for the Nikos Familia.

For the sake of the world, she had to be strong.
