Many A True Nerd June 2016 Patroncast. IN JUNE.

Comments

I just wanted to say how wonderful it is to have these patroncasts. Seeing "behind the curtain" and getting to hear your thoughts on things in general is enlightening in many ways.

papercrane, The Cuddledemon

Definitely excited for the live streaming event. Agree with the position on twitch as well. -nateg452

Nathaniel T Glancy

Jon, please start doing these every other month. I promise you that we will understand, and until you've got some help, these are clearly just stress inducing to get out by such deadlines... :) We will still support you!

I think you have the wrong idea about speedrunning. Speedrunning, at least what I've seen, is not reacting quickly to fast-paced games, it's planning a way to go through the game in such a way that you minimize the time it takes. This takes many playthroughs, practice, strategy, and often deep understanding of how the game works. The speedruns I've seen are rarely, if ever, twitchy; they're meticulously planned and practiced so that you know exactly what the game will throw at you and when.

Why di people stress about the face reveal? Personally, i find not knowing what Jon looks like far better. I just don't want to know that, for me he is his voice and his nice humour and his stories. I fear that by knowing what he looks like in real life, i'd subconsciously project some human stereotype onto him, changing my perception of his voice or his gameplay. It's like when you have an internet relationship and then you meet the other person and you find out she's really ugly or really beautiful..then she stops to be that voice you heard on the phone, she stops to be that lady you have been texting with for months, and she becomes that person in that body and your brain starts to do its own thing with it. I don't know, for me the willingly not showing his face is part of the magic of the channel. Maybe i'm just weird.

Just wanted to weigh in about the Fallout Equestria thing. The entire epic was written using only the Season 1 material, so there's only 26 episodes to know everything relevant to the story. Even then, the main characters in the story have no relation to anything in the show and go through their adventure learning all about the world before and it's secrets, so show knowledge isn't even necessary. It feels way more Fallout than MLP.

Josh M

I expect to see a Worms battle for prime minister!

Eric Place

Woah, woah, woah!Jon is part Canadian? Don't try to slip that little plot point past us, this is big. It explains so much; His politeness, occasional mispronunciations, tolerance of the French! This is like the Jon Snow's parents level reveal. Hold on, Jon's never told us his last name... OMG!

Spoogle McGee

Hey man! Would you play Action Legion? http://store.steampowered.com/app/431630 It's an indie game from my home town Tampere, Finland. I'd play it but I'm currently in Japan as an expat and I can't install anything on my work laptop. The game is based on a hilarious and cartoonish RTS kinda game Cannon Fodder on Amiga which I loved as a kid. Cheers

Same here, I sometime go back to watch them again

Silentcrawl3r

June in June? What strange world is this? Speaking of June... that's how you pronounce Jun's name in F4. If you hang around Marcy (why would you?) you get some random comments between her and Jun where she says his name and it's a hard J and long U. Anyway, thanks for all you do. Sorry the Brexit happened and how it affects you and Claire.

Mike Waraksa

I guarantee if Claire hasn't already read them, she will enjoy them!

Erin Trickett

I guarantee if Claire hasn't already read them, she will enjoy them!

Erin Trickett

Poor Claire. I hope she'll be okay? Not kicked out or anything? If nothing else, it'd be sad that you can't travel as easily together around Europe. MS2 Insanity Run sounds fun! Especially if you try to do a balance at all times with your paragon/renegade choices; keeping in the middle can be hard to keep track of, but makes for more interesting role-play. I've enjoyed other Youtube-based live-streams; they seem good quality and good interaction. And most importantly: thank you for your wonderful content and positive way of running your channel! You are my only Patreon person because you do your own thing, have fun, and we have fun with you!

Erin Trickett

Would you use any of the mods for Fallout 1?

MisterH

"I know that's technically true, because that's how time works." HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :D Outstanding!

Alex Samaras

Gosh just remembered when you took a knife to the frying pan haha. I'm definitely going back to watch that after this.

Nicole Hughes

Hey Jon, Just increased my patreon pledge since the way you are getting paid has gone a bit wibbly thanks to the referendum. It's not much more but I hope it helps. I really love your videos and they've helped me to get past some hard times thanks to your wonderful humor. If you're looking for another series to read since you read through the Farseer books I'd recommend the Ringworld books by Larry Niven. They aren't incredibly long but they're an amusing read.

Merle Neer

Anyone who asks for a face reveal is obviously not a true fan of the channel and should be sacrificed to our Dark Lord Alhazared.

Zack

Hi Jon! Seeing that you enjoyed the Farseer trilogy, you might want to give The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss a read. It only has two books in the series so far but it is awesome! It is great seeing you come such a long way, from a video a week to a video a day! Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Tony Chow

I feel like you should delete your first video with your face in it so when old timers tell people you've already shown your face and to check it out they don't find anything and the mystery just gets deeper. Evil Jon would agree, I'm sure of it.

EssKayAye

I saw on Twitter that you got Civilization V. You probably won't play it on the channel due to how the publisher doesn't allow monetization. However, if you ever play it in your free time, I recommend using the 3UC and 4UC mods, which are amazing and fun and like free DLC. But maybe I'm just biased because I worked on it. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=543428

MikeBurnFire

Aviary attorney was great! I was kinda sad it only got the few videos

Torgofjungle

Ha, don't get too excited - I don't know it would be more than a one-off or a mini-series.

Many A True Nerd

There isn't as far as I'm aware - I was on stage, Matt was there, but didn't record it as far as I know.

Many A True Nerd

I'll get to that, but I believe that Liveship Traders is technically next up, right? Plus I'm not ready to return to Fitz yet, I feel like I want a new story in that world first.

Many A True Nerd

It would - Mass Effect isn't that hard - but it's a franchise I love and would rather do a talking-about-why-it's-amazing series than anything else.

Many A True Nerd

Clearly I'm doing something wrong, because I do all of the cooking AND cleaning up afterwards... Mass Effect 2 would be cool, have you thought about a permadeath/YOLO run? Would that even be possible?

Jason Ross

Regarding Mass Effect or Cities: Skylines, your videos that I enjoy the most are the ones with story and skill involved. So it would be nice if there was at least one ongoing series of such.

Soronlin

The possibility of both Fallout 1 and an all day livestream make me happy!

Brian Bitner

Jon: If you enjoyed the Farseer trilogy, I highly recommend the Tawny Man Trilogy (Also by Robin Hobb). It continues the story of Fitz several years later (15? 20? Can't remember), and I personally found it to be an even better series than the original.

Travis

Is there a video of you getting the 100k play button from Google at EGX?

compox

First, I just have to say how much I respect you for your opinions on taxes. Sweden (where I live) used to be a place where people were proud of paying tax, helping others and having good quality schools, roads and hospitals. I make very little money (thank gods I have a supporting construction worker fiance) but I would still pay more tax if it meant that our nurses got a decent wage. About Fallout 4 Jun, his wife calls him Jun with a J in dialogue. So I've just assumed that's how his name is pronounced. Oh my, my fiance and I have that exact same deal! I hate touching sticky things, especially food on plates, and he's awful at cooking. But I love cooking and baking, it relaxes me and I dare say I'm quite good at it. But it's nice to hear that other people have it the same ^^

Sofia Andersson

Jon, Warband would be a fantastic series. Can't wait to see it on the channel!!

Thomas Seeba

Jon in America CONFIRMED?

lanugo_otws

Brexit has come, Jon is posting Patroncast on time, the end of days is upon us...

Many A True Nerd

I'm so proud but also very scared

Alfie Illingworth

First Brexit, now this? I don't want to imagine what's next.

Erik Hawkinson

Anyone else terrified that this marks the beginning of the end of the world?
