Want to be in a Many A True Nerd video? Read on...

Hello all!

So I want to make a video, and I'm going to need some people's help, so naturally you lot get the first chance if you want to actually be in a video.

The Darwin Project is one of these battle royale games the kids seem to love, with a bit of light gathering and crafting thrown in, but with an important difference - one player is the Game Director, and gets to capriciously hand out help, hindrance, or nuclear explosions.

Naturally, I fancy being a Game Director.

But that means I need people to be the victims, sorry, grateful beneficiaries, of my whims. The game needs 10 people per round, and we can probably do a few rounds, so there are a fair few slots open.

How I think it works is I can choose to either float around and observe, or follow any individual player and chat to them one-on-one, so you may get to have your voice in the video too (no guarantees though - it might be lost in editing, or I might decide the video works better with me just commentating like in a Total War AI vs AI fight).

So, if you're interested, here are the details;

This is currently planned for this coming Sunday, at roughly the same time as I'd typically stream - early evening Europe, and early afternoon for the US.

The Darwin Project is a free-to-play game, so everybody can have a go. If you want to be involved, please do play it a tiny bit first, just so you understand the basics of the materials/crafting/map/tracking systems.

This will be on PC, and I have confirmed with the devs there is no crossplay. Sorry if you're on console only.

It would also be much appreciated if you had a decent internet connection, and at least a reasonable microphone (nothing fancy - an ok headset mic should be just fine, just so the audio will sound alright).

If you do want in, please comment below, and I'll be in touch - and please bear in mind I have no idea how many games we'll get through (it's only 10 players per round), so I can't guarantee everybody will get a turn, but I will cycle the people every round so that as any people as possible get to play, by DM-ing you the private game's code just as we start.

Jon

Important reminder in case you just replied yes without reading that thoroughly - please do put at least an hour or two into Darwin before Sunday if you've said yes, so we have players who vaguely know the game (don't worry - it's a pretty simple game really).

EDIT - The initial response seems pretty high, so I may have to use a random number generator or similar for fairness. I will figure something out and get as many people as possible into a game.

Comments

Nvm, this game is to resource-heavy for my old beasty.

If it's not too late I'd like to be in.

Sounds Fun
