October 2023 Patroncast Submissions - Now Closed

Hello!

Right, let's get the Patroncast back to its usual schedule, by which I mean monthly, but named with a month that arguably isn't appropriate.

Just in case you're new, this submission thread is where you get to ask questions, suggest topics, or otherwise make some delightfully silly Halloween jokes.

So ask away, and I'll update this post when the Patroncast is recorded, so as long as there isn't an edit below saying that, everything should be good :)

EDIT - The Patroncast has now been recorded, so further questions cannot be included.

All the best,

Jon

Comments

Hi Jon - what would be your top nomination for GOTY that didn't make the cut?

Megan Bradbury

Thanks Jon that means a lot to have that kind of encouraging feedback. And I really appreciate you checking it out ☺️

Silent8472

You have the foundations down really well - good audio set-up, you've got a nicely smooth voice and sound comfortable in front of a mic, you're doing a good job keeping the commentary going so there's not much silence, and you've found a solid niche with the Staisfactory - for your sub count, that many views per episode is really nice. It's really good for a year in :)

Many A True Nerd

No problem at all! To be honest, I've just heard of it and want you to be the guinea pig...

Dragmire

Argh, somehow I just missed this when I was just recording now - I shall give it a look!

Many A True Nerd

At the absolute bare minimum, yes, a full mod will be available (though it's honestly not much beyond the basic installation)

Many A True Nerd

Thing is I'm sure you taught me that at one point!

Nathan Malaney

Yes, if I go elsewhere, it will be a migration that will be well advertised.

Many A True Nerd

You are quite correct - I just always bloody forget...

Many A True Nerd

The schedule is a spot crowded at the moment - but hopefully it'll be a livestream option in a vote soon!

Many A True Nerd

Just yesterday I saw a post on the YouTube Reddit talking about the price of premium that was listed as 18,99 a month, which seems way too much. Clearly there’s things going on and you saying you’re watching carefully tells me I’m not being overdramatic about this. I’m curious where this ends up. I hadn’t heard about the things you mention in your comment, so already you’re providing insights that I had not heard before. Thank you

Jord Bijker

Good tips, thanks :)

Many A True Nerd

You're very welcome <3

Many A True Nerd

I agree it sadly wouldn't work well for the channel - but I am hoping to give it a little look at some point myself.

Many A True Nerd

Ok, this is a big and complex enough question I'm not going to try and get to it all in one go, largely as it's going to take time to figure out exactly what YouTube is doing, and how people are responding to it, and how they might respond to that response, etc etc - for example, YouTube reserves the right to just run ads if it wants to, even if I didn't set ads to be on (this happens, for example, for most channels who aren't big enough to be partners), so they might respond to unlisted duplicates by running ads anyway, OR by changing the TOS to ban duplicate videos (which they used to do anyway and relaxed in recent years). In short, it's too early in this mess to have an action plan, but I'm watching carefully.

Many A True Nerd

Well it all depends on the height of the industrial zone buildings, obviously.

Many A True Nerd

I do get what you mean about Starfield - but I think it'll take many more hours in it for me to be able to properly dissect what it is.

Many A True Nerd

Tough one, as we don't know when that expansion will be. If I had to guess, I might say Starfield might be about 60 parts? That would take it to March or so...

Many A True Nerd

A poll may not necessarily be that useful - people who it actively refers to (people choosing to not watch for that reason) would potentially be way more inclined to answer to those to whom it's irrelevant, which would give a very inaccurate picture. It's just not a factor that can ever be reliably quantified.

Many A True Nerd

Hi Jon, loving the Sim Settlements Playthrough; do you think when it is over you might post a modlist/savefile somewhere for folks to wonder through your settlements themselves? It would be neat, since I usually like to enjoy them slower than the videos go over them (but I'm also not sure it is possible with the extra SS2 scripts going on). Hope you and Claire and Ted are well!

Jacobston

Boooooooooo.

Many A True Nerd

I will look into this, but I just went and poked around the backend of Patreon and I can't see a way to enable it. If I find it, I will turn it on.

Many A True Nerd

I agree - from now on, we name the Patroncast a month it's not in by default. It's just safer.

Many A True Nerd

Also only realised months later I think I am using the same outro music as you. But sampling from a slightly different point

Silent8472

Thanks Jon that would mean a lot. It's Blue Kraken Gaming https://youtube.com/@Blue_Kraken_Gaming?si=M4hnoRs5ROQkq7fT

Silent8472

Well you can tell me the channel name here, and I might go and have a sneaky look :)

Many A True Nerd

Take a glance at Mob Factory. It sounds interesting but reviews are mixed. It's a very simplified Factorio-esque tower defense game.

Dragmire

Will you finish Dredge?

Andris Grīnbergs

Jon, I want to see more Landlord’s Super on the channel. I believe it left early access earlier this year. Here’s the thing, I’m not big into construction games so I don’t really think I’d enjoy playing it that much, but seeing it’s depiction of 1980s Britain through your eyes as someone who grew up in the midlands really elevated it for me. I wonder if your initial experience with the game left any lasting impression, or was it one of the many one offs you play once and never think of again?

Mark Peckham

If Paradox was to release a brand new grand strategy IP, what time period would you want it to cover?

Canadas Bacon

As they just released their big 2.0 update, a reccomendation for "Suzerain", a big run a country and make difficult choices game!

Canadas Bacon

Hi Jon, have you played the Freespace games (2 in particular)? They're space-combat sims that seem like the sort of thing you'd like, and they've aged surprisingly well

John Bats

Jon, I’m called Tim. Why is Tim now your useless default go to name? Please change it back to (useless) Steve 😁

Sprout Winkler

not a tip but I'm glad you were able to get the personal atmosphere power fairly early, it makes it so much easier to cultivate wealth when your can carry a metric ton of loot out of every dungeon

Anna D

Jon, how would you feel if the next fallout has a class of very big weapons that required power armour or like a strength 10 perk (or maybe even a secret super mutant transformation quest) to wield? because let's be honest, a regular person would struggle to stay upright while firing a fallout minigun, and also I doubt the us military would let their super strong metal boys carry basic regular size weapons when they could feasibly shoulder-fire a .50 caliber heavy machine gun

Anna D

I personally prefer balanced overall as it provides a nice balance (get it) between vertical and horizontal travel when using alternate boost (if you're on pc then bind a second key to the boost option to enable alternate boost)

Anna D

Hello Jon, Claire, and Ted! Will you ever make a return to Dave the Diver for a livestream? It was such a fun game to watch, and it reminded me of some of the more classic content on the channel. A follow up question. Do you ever take videos down? Occasionally it seems like videos disappear and I was wondering if the algorithm is to blame.

Lemon

Hi Jon, a few months ago I brought a university book from the late 1800s. The book contains a complete (from back then) encyclopaedia of all known Greek and Roman Antiquities. I was wondering in your study's wether you came across any objects from Greece that you found unique/interesting. If so why that object?? Also sorry for the boring questions, I just enjoy your answers to them! Have a wonderful week!!

Callum Merry-Taylor

Hi Jon, whenever you do a standalone Crusader Kings III video (like the Royal Court, Tours & Tournaments, and Wards & Wardens videos), you sometimes vaguely mention wanting to start a new CK3 series. Do you still have plans to do this at some point? If so, are you waiting for something specific to come out before you start a new series, or is it just about not really having the time to fit it in your upload schedule?

camocat9

Boost packs in starfield. I’m not sure what I should be using and would like an explanation on boost packs and what type is best. I use power at the moment and I seem to just fly (and then hurt myself when I land fall damage) And I have no idea what is best Basic, power, skip or balanced. But I’d love your opinion on the best one please

Row white

Jon, what was the most useful comment you've ever received on a video/tweet/patreon post?

Anna D

As a kid, I can remember making new Minecraft accounts for the online alpha every time I forgot my password. The first account I made was simply called 'Jorg', but sadly I could only remember the password for 'Jorg2' when I eventually bought the game. I'm really mad in hindsight that I lost what could have been a very unique username. Are there any usernames you're sad to have lost? Has Claire had any special ones?

Jorg2 - the Heinlein that troopers your starship instantly

Hey Jon, I have a question that I'm sure I can google for a good answer, but I wanted to get it from the source. What's the origin of your "eggbox" nickname? I hear it come up in livestreams and of course X-Com, but never knew where it started. Thanks in advance!

Wouter

Hi Jon, I hope you all (but especially Ted) are well. A few days ago you said you think you're close to abandoning Twitter. In all honesty, your posts are the only reason I've not deleted my own Twitter account. Do you think you'll move to one of the other platforms to keep posting content?

Edward Kendall

Hello there Jon! What happened with Dwarf Fortress? Anyway, I do recommend you take a looksy at it again when the big update containing "Adventurer Mode" comes. It a very different mode, it's more like an RPG for a (or several) character you choose. Basically, in the same world where you can build a fort, you can venture out with an adventurer, explore the world, take quests, hunt monsters and so on. Or, you could play as a hedgehog man writing their own poems and to recite them in taverns. And possibly die when travelling between towns.

Knapp

Hi Jon, First, you owe the comments of XCOM 1 an apology. For years you have demonized them as an example of how backseat gaming can ruin a series. While the comments might have been overly helpful, they were only that way because you asked them to. At 57s into the first XCOM 1 video, you say "By the way, I'm going to need some help with this one" (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oxf4PYHhot8&t=57s). You literally asked for their help, then criticized them for years because they gave it to you albeit they might have given you more than you would have wanted. Please apologize to the XCOM 1 comments and accept that it was your fault that the comments backseat gamed you because you literally asked them to.

Shawn Rosofsky

Hi Jon, very much enjoying the new Fallout 4 series. I swear twice you've expressed fear about getting sick right after just getting a disease but I thought there was a 24 hour cooldown between diseases. Have I made that up?

Nathan Malaney

Hi Jon et al Jon, many moons ago you mentioned that Cicero was one of your favourite characters from Roman history. Have you ever read the Robert Harris trilogy about Cicero? Keep up the good work! Thanks

Richard Austin

Hi Jon, Claire and Ted hope you three are doing well, had a good Halloween. Jon: Do you have any interest in playing Star Trek: Infinite and with your love of trains can I recommend Unrailed!. Clair: Do you have any favourite Halloween themed books or films you like to watch around this time of year?. RIP Mathew Perry

Yorkshire Bhoy

Hi Jon! Was wondering if you've heard of roadwarden. It's a text-heavy narrative rpg game and seems like it could be your cup of tea. It isn't a very long game if you're interested in checking it out. Also I've been really enjoying the fallout 4 sims settlement series! And hearing you say "mayor" repeatedly makes my day.

Creepus

Jon, I recently completed listening to the entirety of discworld and have moved on to my first rewatch of your oblivion series. Watching it this way, I really notice just how few voices actors there are in it. Which of them are your favourite? Also, have you had any thoughts about what your next oblivion playthrough might look like?

Anna D

If Starfield gets a Survival mode, will we will the Vending Machine challenge? Can you beat Starfield survival with only food and drink from the various vending machines across the settled systems

Stephen M McKellep

Jon! So happy to see you diving into the Talos Principle series. Would seriously love to see you play some more!

Brian Bitner

I don't have a question, but I wanted to share a brief story. I like to use different notification sounds for each app so I can tell at less than a glance which app I got the notification from. I will often listen to a podcast or audiobook while I'm working. While I was working, a character who is basically a slightly jaded Superman gave an impassioned speech to a younger character: "At the end of the day, you'll know who your friends are. Because when things inevitably get bad, they'll be the ones you want to protect. The people who, when you see them in danger, a deep, primal part of you simply says, 'HELLO HEADQUARTERS!!!'" A Patreon notification went off at the perfect time, and I spent the next minute or two laughing my ass off in the back of a van. Thank you for your part in that moment of insanity. Bonus: that same notification went off when I watched The Cloverfield Paradox, right as the station teleported to its home dimension. It was the best part of the movie. Edit: Game recommendation for Steelrising. Think Lies of P but set in revolutionary-era France, where everyone speaks with an English accent. It's less hardcore than LoP, and you play as a clockwork automaton assigned as Marie Antoinette's bodyguard. In case you aren't sold yet, you get to wear big, revolutionary-era hats.

Joseph Henderson

Jon, if a serious attempt was made to make a proper Hitman movie could you think of anyone more fun to play Agent 47 then Jason Stathom? Either way I just want that to be a thing.

Chabshaile

Hi Jon, have you seen any details about the upcoming Percy Jackson TV series, and do you think you'd be interested in watching? Have you or Claire ever picked up any of the books by Rick Riordan, and if so what are your thoughts?

Christina (shrugs)

Hope you, Claire, and especially Ted are doing well! I'm about to embark on a 12 hour train journey, what Switch games would you recommend for my journey? Last time I did a similar trip I played Pokemon brilliant diamond (my first ever pokemon game) and had a good time

Liam

Jon, I know you watch Zero Punctuation due to my interactions with you via Reddit, and have been personally have been watching for almost its entire 16 year run. Do you have any reaction to the dissolution of The Escapist's entire video production team due to the firing of it's EiC?

sometimestea

Thoughts on funiculars? I rode one for the first time last month in Quebec City. Also, it's (likely) my birthday month when this comes out, so can I get a zen, meditative happy birthday?

Steven Ness

Last month someone brought up Morrowind. Have you considered a Morrowind playthrough? What's holding you back?

David Sargent

Afternoon folks I’m wondering on what Jon thinks of the drop tables for legendary weapons in starfield I found a good pistol not legendary in first 10 levels and I’m now level 41 and finally found a legendary drop weapon worth using. Ps a few years ago you did a demo on satisfactory so I blame you for the 3000 hours I now have in that game btw I hope you all have a great day

De Chef

If you were cast in a production of 12 Angry Men, which of the Angry Men would you choose to play?

what if da repo man was dr stevie's kid, macho woulda had to chase richards' son to get his hat back

What happened to PodCats?

Andris Grīnbergs

How many likes did you get on your pumpkin (from pumpkin festive game) ? :) loved the video by the way.

Row white

Do you do anything for Halloween? What is your favourite Halloween film? Claire what is your favourite Halloween film? Question for Jon and Claire What is your favourite autumn/seasonal/halloween food and drink?

Row white

you can enter the uc vanguard pilot simulator as many times as you want in order to farm spaceship kills for skill challenges

Anna D

you can go back to red mile's shipbuilder and look in the equipment tab for shielded cargo scan jammers. they can increase your chances of evading contraband scans (but you still have to have shielded cargo as well (which you do)) (ok you learned of these but didn't install one in episode 22, but I don't know how much further than that you already are and I don't know yet if this tip is obsolete)

Anna D

if you're having trouble sneaking, remember to take off your spacesuit because they're noisy

Anna D

Also I have some non-spoilery starfield tips you might like that I'll add to as I think of them (or subtract from if I see later that you've already discovered): you can add a defensive tail gun position with full rear coverage to your ship by going to any uc-aligned shipbuilder and installing a structural piece called a deimos tail. it attaches readily to any rear facing surface and can have a gun attached to each side. just put two turret weapons on it and flip them til they point backwards and you'll be covered. (I use laser turrets because I'm afraid they might otherwise kill off a ship I want to save for boarding)

Anna D

Hi Jon, Claire and Ted! Given the lag between patroncasts, hope by the time you read this you're going to have a good Christmas or you have had a very happy new year. Jon - what video(s), be it series, essay or one off, are you most proud of? Something that did better than you thought it would or you had to put together under difficult circumstances? Similar for Claire: what video or series - aside from the brilliant Subnautica thumbnails - are you happiest with?

Leftback

Hi Jon! You are offered a job at Bethesda and can create a final DLC campaign for Fallout 4. What is it about?

Sean

Jon, what is the furthest in each direction (north, east, south, west) you have been from London

Canadas Bacon

Sadly I missed my chance to get a shout-out for my daughter's birthday last month, so could you do a belated 7th birthday to my daughter Ellery in American Jon's voice? I'm sure she'd get a laugh out of that, especially since I'm going to become an American citizen after 12 years next week!

Paul Hawkins

Reminds me of the start to a Tommy Cooper joke about the violin and oil painting: I was cleaning out the attic the other day with the wife. Old, dusty, covered in cobwebs but she's good with the kids!

Paul Hawkins

Hi Jon, I feel like I must have missed an explanation of this at some point but why aren't you playing Baldur's Gate 3? It's my favourite tactical RPG since Dragon Age Origins, rivalling it in many ways. Seems like the sort of thing you'd have a great time with!

Wimble

Hi Jon, Claire and Ted, Your birthday livestream was a great idea, any chance to do Jon vs chat on Subnautica?

Ricco

Hi Jon. What elements so far do you love and which do you hate during your time playing starfield?

James Fox

Jon, what does the perfect Christmas dinner look like to you? Is there anything you would swap in or out of the traditional English Xmas dinner? Bonus question: what’s on your Christmas list this year?

Tom Boldero

Hey Jon and Claire! Hope both of you are doing great. It’s been 4 years since the Impossible Run, any chance of us getting another Stellaris series soon? Maybe with the new DLC? Also I know that you prefer going vanilla, but do you think you can take a look at some of the most popular mods sometimes (stuff like Gigastructural Engineering etc.)? There are some really fun ideas in some of those.

sublime

Hi Jon, I'm currently doing a very interesting semester which takes me from South Africa, to Spain, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands. I am having a great time, but there are moments of stress when I need to zone out and your videos have been a godsend. I binged the entire XCOM2 series in a week and watched the whole birthday livestream in one go after my beloved car broke down right before leaving Spain (the poor boy is still there, but I'm picking him up this week). Thanks for being your delightful and entertaining self.

Kloovt

Hi Jon! I hope everyone is doing well. I've been fairly busy lately, and haven't had time to watch videos as they come out, sometimes getting weeks behind. I was wondering how much YouTube rewards you for videos being viewed same day vs punishing you for them not being watched for a while after release?

Alex

It's currently October 30. Have you put up. Christmas decor?

kevlarmenace

Hi Jon! Recommendation for a cute one off game Chants of Sennaar. A puzzle game where you use context to figure out the different languages of the people to learn the story of the game

Simone S

Hello folks! Just wanted to say that I've been loving the Starfield and Sim Settlements series', and to drop a not-necessarily-for-the-channel recommendation: Stray Gods. The lead writer of Dragon Age: Origins and the composer for Journey made a Greek-mythology-in-modern-day game and made it an RPG musical with songs that change as you make choices. It's truly wonderful, and although I know it may well be unsuited to a video, I heartily recommend it if you ever have a free five hours and want an emotional ride. Love the channel, may all three of you keep being positive forces on the world.

BackhandTrebond

Hey Ted! (or Jon i guess) , im struggling with writing a termpaper, im always procrastinating as long as possible. Any tips from your university time, which might help me stop doing everything last minute?

Edward Peschel

Jon! When a game comes out you're really excited about, is it weird to have to play it over the course of several months due to the format of your channel? If it weren't for the channel, would you blaze through your most highly anticipated games as quickly as possible, or would you still stretch out your playtime over a longer period of time?

Brian Bitner

I've been on a Stellaris binge(can't wait for the Astral Planes update!) but I think the game is begining to feel its' age. Might be time for Paradox to start on a sequel if they haven't already. This brings me to my question, would a theoretical Stellaris sequel be near the top of your list of desired unannounced sequels? Also, any hopes for changes that seem unattainable in current Stellaris but feasible for a Stellaris 2?

Dragmire

Good day, Jon! It looks like the most recently-released Total War game to get a full series on the channel was Three Kingdoms, with Troy, Warhammer 3, and Pharaoh not getting the same treatment. Is this just down to scheduling, or is your enthusiasm waning for the modern Total Wars?

Carabas

Hi Jon, I've recently been getting into CK3 recently and I wondered if you had any plans for a new CK3 playthrough?

Daniel Taylor-Huda

Heya Jon, hope you, Claire and Ted are well. Can I get a birthday bell(Ding!)? You may have talked about this in your preamble, but I was wondering how you felt about YouTube’s new cracking down on the use of adblock? Coincidentally, it was today that it locked me out from watching anything. I personally don’t feel like watching ads that fund the YouTube altright pipeline and prefer to support creators directly through Patreon. Controlling people’s ads is a strong advantage that YouTube has over patreon and I think this is a blatant attempt at pulling on that consumer base. Do you think people who have a large following on patreon will start posting unlisted copyvideos without ads, would you consider it? Or do you have any other insights or worries about this?

Jord Bijker

Recently Matt mentioned the podcats would be back soon. Any progress on that front?

Thomas Bunink

Hello Jon, in Fallout 4 Sim Settlements, when you set up the industrial zones, where will you make the zebras, and where will you make the giraffes?

Travis Reis

Hi Jon! Have you or Clare ever read the Percy Jackson books and do you have any opinions on how various greek myths were adapted to fit the modern day setting? Thought I'd ask now since the new TV series comes out in December and this may be our last Patroncast before then. Best wishes and Happy Halloween!

Tortoise Of Legends

Hi Jon and family! I've really shifted into a Minecraft mode lately and I wonder if ya'll ever played it? Even if you haven't played what do you think is the cutest mob? https://minecraft.wiki/w/Mob I have a lot of feelings about Starfield, all not really a question? Just this feeling it could much more? Something I do really miss for myself in Starfield is my own motivation to play different characters/builds? I have trouble imaging/ creating backgrounds as you can technically visit everything. Oh with the mug collection going, have you thought about MATN mugs with special MATN phrases? You can never have enough mugs right? You could even make them rare with some FOMO. 😮 You could even ask for suggestions and then do a sexy excel video about you sorting the results? (⊙_⊙;) Slimerancher 2 seems to be updating the 14th, could you be tempted to visit? Will you visit Atlantic City in 76 when that comes out? I'm enjoy 76 mostly with the events they do all still waiting for that general damage, weapon rebalance update.. For a new game, I would love for you to take a look at 'Snacktorio' there should be a demo live when you get to this. The description starts with; 'Snacktorio is a factory-cooking simulator where you must satisfy the appetites of unspeakable horrors...' In general the people/studio that make the game seems really great and they have other silly games in the works too. They are also UK based if that helps? Oh for both you and Claire, when you get a (discord) message or e-mail do you mark it as unread until you answer it or do you just remember? Hope you have a great November! It is of course the best month! (Sorry it is so long I just keep editing it when I think of something new..)

Smitje

Hi Jon! I was wondering, with all the backlash YouTube is facing with its anti AdBlock crusade and some people considering boycotting it, have you ever thought of a plan B platform should YouTube go bust/lose too much audience? Thank you! You're by far my favorite YouTuber :)

Marco Cigna

Playing games has been your career for so long, are you at this point able to play a game without your content creator glasses on - without thinking about it in terms of content, reception, etc? In other words, can you turn that part of your brain off when you’re playing for fun or is there always a part of you that’s thinking about the game/events that happen/the developing story and how you’d present it to us? Similarly, ever had something happen on a private session you wish you had been recording? If so, what?

Nick

Hi Jon! I have a classics question, these days it's common to be horny for monster girls, you yourself have lusted after them in a valentines special. But it seems the Greeks depicted many of them as fairly sexualised(sirens, harpies, medusa). Were people more horny in the past for sexy monster ladies?

Dean McCaffrey

How does Starfield compare to the Outer Worlds and what would you want from the dlc? Also F,M,K Redfall, Ride to Hell and the XIII remake

SamTheSensualSapphist

Hey Jon! Twitter (I refuse to call it by it's new name) sucks and is a toxic cesspool. Any chance on migrating to a new platform? I don't have any suggestions unfortunately so also if you have any suggestions for a similar platform that would be appreciated!

Kenny Tillman

Hi Jon, not a question as such but to let you know that me and a friend have a bet going that starfield's playthrough will still be going by the time it's first expansion comes out. Loving the content ATM hope you, Claire and Ted are doing well.

Declan Manock

Hey MATN Fam, any chance of updating some of the old outros? My absolute favorite one is L.A. Noire! Loving the videos in any case!

Zachary Sager

Hi Jon, a few questions for you: have you ever played Sid Meier’s Simgolf? Secondly, will we potentially see the game Broken Roads on the channel at some point, as it appears to be up your alley (post apocalypse Western Australia, turn based RPG, unique morality system, seems to be of the Disco Elysium ilk). Thirdly, will we get a livestream completion of the RE4 DLC Seperate Ways which has just released recently?

James Katarzynski

Hey Jon, When will you be playing Backpack battles? its Backpack hero mixed with super autopets

Amanda and Nick Parparian

Howdy howdy! In last month's Patroncast, you mentioned that you didn't think many viewers are intentionally putting off watching your Starfield run until they have a chance to play the game themselves. I am! I'm looking forward to watching it, but I'm still on Baldur's Gate 3 - and I did the same thing with your BG3 video. I don't know how many other people are doing the same thing - maybe put a poll?

Spike

Happy Halloween, Ted and Co.! Jon! I know you aren't the biggest fan of horror, to put it lightly, but what is your favorite horror game/film? Claire! In the spirit of spooky things (pun intended), have you read I Am Legend by Richard Matheson? Its a really original and quirky take on vampires that kept me hooked throughout. Ted! Hi Ted, how's things? :)

Zac Thompson

Jon, Any plans to take a look at Manor Lords when it comes out next year? A city builder game mixed in with Total War style combat, could be up your alley.

ZVL

Hi Jon, Claire and Ted, I bring you some fancy jokes for Halloween. Ready? Q: Why is the woman afraid of the vampire? A: Because he is all bite and no bark. Q: Do you know what killed the man who had a two ton pumpkin fall on him? A: He was squashed. • I stopped by grandmother’s house and I’m so impressed. She had all the Halloween decorations out. There were cobwebs everywhere and bugs in the windows, along with a skeleton on her couch. → She’s 89 and always does a great job, but there was no answer when I knocked. I guess I’ll stop by again in a few months…if I have time. Q: What did the parent say to the baby ghost? A: Don’t spook until you’re spoken too. and finally Q: What is a vampire's favorite flavor of ice cream? A: Necktarine Happy Fall and many wonderful woofs for Ted.

Bryan P

Hi Jon,Claire and Ted I hope you're all well. Jon what's was the funniest bug that you have encountered in a video game?

GamerGeorgeXl

Hi Jon, hope you Claire and Ted are doing well. This is less of a question more of a personalised thank you. As being inspired by you I launched my own YouTube channel a year and a half ago, and just crossed 500 subs. I wanted to say thank you for being awesome and a fine example of how to be a good influence on the internet. Ps my username is not my channel name as I know that would be bad form as I don't want to advertise here. Thanks Chris

Silent8472

patreon now has anual payment options, and best I know you have these disabled. any chance of enabling it?

MegaSkrow

Jon how's Ted doing 🐶

ShugM25

Jon, have you ever played the Gothic series of games in the early 2000s? Or the "spiritual successor" Risen? I know you were not too impressed with Elex, which is designed by the same team. I am asking because a Gothic 1 remake is in the works, and the original has just been re-released for Switch a few weeks back.

El Manni

Hi Jon - I've recently rewatched your video essay on Fallout and the Trouble with Speech. What are your thoughts about the way Starfield does this (with the Persuade mini game)? Do you think it deals well with the issue of how to gamify speech?

Megan Bradbury

Hello Jon, Claire, and Ted! What classic Halloween monster (mummy, witch, zombie etc) do you think best corresponds to the three of you? Also, what do you do if something like a sneeze or cough happens during a longer speech or a shot or scene that can't easily be repeated? Do you just try to cut it out in a natural way or do you repeat what you were saying after the recording and just slot it in instead?

Hi Jon, I was wondering why in Starfield, why not keep your collection ofugs and other things on display at your house that you're paying so much for? Also, have you heard the sad news of Matthew Perry (voice of Benny)?

Salem Wildfire

Hi Jon, Claire & Ted, hope you are all doing well! As a follow-up to last month's question about a new Pokemon evolution: suppose you were to design a new regional form for an existing Pokemon, which Pokemon would you choose and how would you make its regional form? Question to Jon: which are you looking forward to more, more *great* city planning in Cities Skylines 2, or reinventing the way we look at houses in House Flipper 2? Question to Claire: which are you looking forward to/dreading more, more *great* city planning in Cities Skylines 2, or reinventing the way we look at houses in House Flipper 2? Also, do you think you put a curse on the September/Summer/[other name] Patreoncast, by trying to force it into a naming convention it wasn't comfortable with - which obviously caused so many things to explode that it got delayed :P

Hello Ted, Claire, And finally Jon, my questions this month are as follows. Jon, is there an aspect of Starfield you absolutely love, also is there an aspect you absolutely hate/dislike? Claire, do you have any good book series recommendations for someone who loved the magical series of books that shall not be named but dont want to support someone horrible?

Daniel Friel

Jon! Would you rather live in the Starfield game or The Outer Worlds games?

Miyaa

Jon, how do you feel survival mode should work in starfield? (given that it's set in an intact and advanced society with bountiful food and medical care and a spaceship you go everywhere with and which has clean beds and fresh running water)

Anna D

Ooh I've never been this early before! Hi Jon, I hope you're all doing good 🙂 random question, what's your favourite lock-picking/hacking mini game in the video game? I ask because I've really been enjoying the starfield one and it got me thinking

Hi Jon. Any chance of a Benny Special marking the passing of Matthew Perry?
