Open-ended hiatus

I've got some bad news to share.

Some of you may know that my Instagram account was recently deleted, apparently because I somehow got on the timelines of normies who got offended and flagged me.

Instagram was the most effective of my social media, probably the main engine behind the relative success of this Patreon. Without it, this small business' prospects are much different. It's unlikely that the amount of time and energy I put into gainer art and comics will continue to be worth it, when considered in relation to my everyday responsibilities, my shared plans with my boyfriend, and my other, non-kink artistic projects and goals.

I can try and rebuild on Instagram, of course, but there's always the chance that once I reach the same level of visibility, the algorithm will once again put me at risk of being flagged to death because of puritanical bullshit and fatphobia. This Patreon page allowed me to make actual money as an artist – thanks to it, I was able to make a real difference in my and my boyfriend's lives just by writing and drawing, and that's been extremely empowering.

However, I'm ready to be an artist that can grow, and for that I need to stand on ground less slippery than this. And it's not simply that it would be "safer", "less taboo", "more palatable" to pursue non-kink art. It's actually that I want to. I've really, really wanted to, for a long, long time.

I kind of always knew that this wouldn't be forever, and I was hoping to build a bridge to the next stage. Instead of a bridge, though, I got a startling, loud signal that it was time to go. And it happened at the right time, too, before I embarked on yet another long-winded story project.

So I'm going on an open-ended hiatus. No new comics, stories or illustrations anytime soon. 

I don't have specific plans for my past content yet, but I'll announce it over the next few weeks. I'll finish a few pending commissions and leave this page open for another couple of months, but there will probably be no new content besides that. I'll appreciate whatever support you're inclined to give, but you're also welcome to unsub if you need to.
