Hey orange tier! I bring you guys a download of my latest piece, so you can zoom in really close, andddd... some insight to my thoughts on this piece. I don't think I'll talk about the insight anywhere else.
This painting took a whole week of me working on it and then abandoning it... and then coming back to it to finally work on it more. It was very on and off!! My process on this was too messy to even try going through... :(
I went in knowing I wanted to capture a sort of intense emotional moment between these two. The theme of this was "Strings of fate". You know, the red strings that bind soulmates together?
Referencing to my own experience with falling in love, love can be suffocating. It can consume you. You love this person so much that you can't breathe. I know I'm not the best at explaining this feeling, but that's what painting is for right? :,D I wanted to capture the feeling of loving someone so much, that it hurts. Even if you may wish you didn't, they're still everywhere.
In this piece, Shay and Miho have the strings of fate around their throats. The strings are wrapped and tangled around Shay's hand, and the more she tries pulling from them, the more it hurts. I was going to draw Shay holding scissors with the other hand, but I ended up going against it.... Now I wish I had LOL Shay would have been holding the scissors and Miho holding her hand down to keep from doing that. "It's no use, the more I try to get away from you, the more it hurts. We are stuck in this together."
Love can be both bliss and a painful experience.
The gun shooting Miho symbolizes an event that happens later in the story.... I'll keep that part a secret, though... since it's a spoiler!! The way she is shielding her from it is intentional, though....
I hope you enjoyed these thoughts on the piece! Thank you for your support!!!! I will be posting something spicy for my Grapefruit people soon~
