One Piece - Episodes 27 & 28 (EARLY UNCUT ACCESS)

The Baratie Arc! (East Blue Saga)

Comments

It makes perfect sense considering they had a gun to Zeff's head

Cube Pylum

He said "keep your hands off of them" because CRUNCHYROLL SUBTITLES ARE ABSOLUTELY AWFUL, ATROCIOUS, and most importantly INACCURATE.

R2isDead

Another amazing reaction, love how much attention you pay so I always want to give your reactions my full attention! Especially for this, being my favorite anime and it being such a long and in depth story

Kcosta

Finally have some time let’s gooo!!!

Kcosta

Great comment bro, I loved it. I think ur right

Amii Rex

Of course it's anime so who cares.... but i loved how you noticed the incredible way everyone was just floating at the surface. This has been an hilarious thing that started with Shanks even managing to stand still in water, minus an arm and holding Luffy.

Zarathos Daimaoh

“I want to get inside luffys head” luffys head: “MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAT!” Me: get me out of here! get me out of here!

Ripcordkill345

I guess you can say that Krieg got his drip from Kreig's list

okay to summarize, heh he, Luffy got mad and "axed" the fin, destroying it. Sanji was concerned saying "don't touch them" - he was concerned about the owner Zeff who was still hostage. Later Luffy explains he didn't touch anyone... so there should be no problem. Then Luffy threatens destroying Baratie. The owner Zeff chuckles, I don't think he disagrees with Luffy on this... Luffy at this point is "threatening" to destroy the ship - and he just proved that he could do it so everyone is concerned. Then more events happened... until at the end poison gas! So... Luffy never tried to destroy the ship, he was still in negotiations but he put that on the table that he "would" destroy the ship. (okay now I watch part 2...)

Mannygogou

Heehee, this is my interpretations. Luffy axed the fin... why?, well you know..., he's impulsive like that. I think it seemed like a good idea. Then words were exchanged and then Luffy said he'd go ahead and destroy the restaurant. Those two are separate things, he didn't axe the fin to destroy the restaurant. Then part 2 is he "threatens" to destroy the restaurant and everyone believes him because he just destroyed the fin. So I'm going to say Luffy was negotiating... but definitely he did not try to destroy the restaurant the first time. Also we see the owner geezer smiling and chuckling when Luffy said that... so it seems he knows what's happening. Probably... up to this point either instinctively or what, Luffy fully understands that the restaurant is not worth Sanji's life and this the old head chef knows as well. That onus is on Sanji, he feels responsible... but the two around him, Owner Zeff and Luffy both believe that the restaurant is not worth that. Regarding a person's treasure... I guess I'd like to hear your thoughts but... Sometimes "the treasure" is just a representation of what is actually the real treasure - for example the pet store that the dog, was it Chuchu(?) was guarding. It was treasure yes, but the real treasure was the memory of his late owner. The pet store was destroyed if you remember and Chuchu walked away. The restaurant Baratie, at this point we don't know what will happen to it - Sanji called it the old geezer's treasure but really... Zeff's real treasure was his wish, that maybe he'd spend the rest of his life running a restaurant in the middle of the sea. Yes Baratie makes that happen but the wish is the more important thing, he can make a new restaurant and it will still fulfill that wish. Also it seems that Zeff left his first wish with Sanji and that was the All Blue... since he can't travel the seas as a pirate anymore. He seemed to think that "at the right" time you go to the grand line and the All Blue would be there... that's what he said. So I look forward to it.

I absolutely love your analysis I can’t wait for you to continue this journey

a quick flexie lore?! 🤩 I miss my youthful blind ignorance a lot as I grow older 😔

hoobity

I love the way most of Luffy's early fights slowly reveal what he's about as a character. Buggy had typical views on wealth and treasure while Luffy simply values his crew and signature straw hat. Kuro reviles the pirate life entirely and regrets his time spent as one, Luffy finds his severe lack of pirate pride despicable. Krieg is overly focused on power and preparation. Huge fleet of ships, tons of men, endless weapons, big shiny armor. Now he's pursuing the details of Zeff's voyage believing it to be some kind of cheat code for surviving the Grand Line. Anything to take all the challenge out of the journey. Meanwhile Luffy started off in a sinking barrel and currently has just a humble crew of 2. Literally just got done facing the very same threat that left Krieg and his men traumatized while simultaneously getting his ship stolen by one of his own crewmates, and yet he still couldn't feel more ready to tackle the Grand Line.

Should of done 3 episode In 1 video flexie ok enjoying the video very much

Jose Luis Membreno

i'm not sure if I'd call Luffy young and ignorant, he is definetly young and kinda dumb but his position of not being afraid of deaths comes from the idea of fulfill his dream and that's the only thing that matters, you would see how this idea deveops slowly, but short Luffy will never be afraid of dying, he is afraid of other things but not his death. And other thing is that in difference with other shiners luffy is mostly a developed character, as you mention he stills needs to learn a lesson or two but he is basically done

Diego Torres Ortiz

Luffy said in episode 1 that he's ok with being killed as long as it happens in the pursuit of his dream - I'm paraphrasing, of course, but he said something like that to Kobi. Zorro feels the same way about his own ambition, I'm pretty sure, which is why the Mihawk fight ended the way it did and why Mihawk accepted him. I understand what you're saying about the power of youthful ignorance lol. When I was a kid I practiced Shotokan Karate in a class otherwise full of adults. I could do things many of the adults couldn't because, if the sensei told me to punch through a block of wood, it just didn't occur to me that they might be asking me to do something I couldn't do, so I just did it. Meanwhile, most of the adults were too concerned with *how* they were going to manage it and messed themselves up by thinking about it too much. Honestly, I should have been a Nike commercial lol I didn't really lose that youthful ignorance until I was around 40 years old, though I had to accept there were limits to what I could do along the way. That might not make sense to you young'uns out there yet, though lol. May you keep that feeling for as long as possible.

Caradoc Elmet

annnndd by this time you already know why 'to be continued' is considered the biggest enemy in one piece lol glad you're having fun, and i love that you notice the details like luffy punching the spear etc! it definitely gives you a good base for getting into and through lore-heavy episodes ^__^

Shiro

Hearing you talk at the end of this episode and everything you said makes me really excited for your thoughts on up coming arcs.

William Huffman

As someone already said, Luffy is just a crackhead.

Ace The FireDragon

Wait till you get the answer of why Luffy functionscthe way he do! He's a great MC!

Tekzeiro

While loving the openings is good and all, heavy spoilers start with the third one. You can listen to the music I guess but you'll have to look away to avoid them xD

VoiceOfVoorhees

The plan is to finish the Baratie arc in these five workdays If I understood correctly, so, yeah, some days we had to get double uploads to keep up with the schedule

VoiceOfVoorhees

Another double upload. What have we done to deserve this. Thank you so much!

Patrick Jung

btw zeef didn't cut his leg in the see in manga he cut his foot on the island and eat it all these days, but they change it in anime but they show it in the Netflix adaptation i guess

Maher Alafandi

He does look like a Craig, though.

Ziggy Stardust

I love this faith, determination and self-confidence

Miejscownik Osobistego Spokoju

It's cool to see Ghin sticking to his morals and values in not being able to kill the person who saved his life despite him being willing to risk his life for the sake of Krieg twice, at least. With that said, Zeff is still my favorite character of this arc. I also want to point out that we're actually seeing a good variety of villains up to this point. Buggy is a devil fruit user, Kuro is a speedster and Krieg is a power type. To see how Luffy can adapt to each one shows you how much he has been training/practicing before he set sail.
