One Piece - Episodes 89-90 (EARLY UNCUT ACCESS)

Drum Island (Alabasta Saga)

Comments

Cried with you once again <3 Haha! Even though I do think the first arcs are a bit slow, nothing can top the emotional moments in them. Chopper's arc was one of the ones that made me cry in the first 200 episodes! It has such good moments. I enjoyed rewatching it with you, Flexie, especially since you seem to want to understand every character and you have an introspective look into all the plot points.

Nicole

Nice reaction! Pls you have to watch Chopper's character song. The VA of Chopper sing that song and is an official product of the franchise. We need your reaction to that <3

Manuel Pacheco

The backstories in one piece are the best

Manic Lalo

Yeah you need to start having two boxes of tissues on standby dear shit gets progressively more real

Holy Shlapknops

P.S: I WAS RIGHT!

Holy Shlapknops

OMG I think I just realized that Doctorines VA is Goku! When she screamed that defo reminded me of Goku 1 sec

Holy Shlapknops

I'm new here and i love to see how you walk this beautiful path that is one piece :)

Carlos Aguilar

One Piece: How many times do you want to cry? Me: Yes

hoobity

I love how she just does the tissue for thumbnails lol. she aint even wipe any tears, she just does multiple thumbnail poses with it

Kureha's goodbye is but an innocent selfish wish of "dont go" . When you love someone, the ultimate sacrifice of that love is letting it go. Sacrificing it is the last step to confirm that your love was in fact True Love and not a disguise for a selfish desire. She is setting herself and chopper free in her own way. Chopper needs to realize that its not okay to let himself be bound in the name of love and Kureha succeeds to teach her last lesson, enacts whats on the other side of True freedom and love, and wishes him on a journey. Realizing this exact fact you cure the sickness of the heart, its akin to watching sakura bloom on a winter island. This was hiruluk's cure not just to drum citizens, but to every viewer as well, a calling to the silent but unbeatable wish for a better world. Its such a innocent but base desire within all of us that it hits so hard and we dont understand why. What a way to write a character, both hiruluk and kureha , freaking pirates man, so cool. This couldn't be any more beautiful . I love how Luffy's story in itself delivers freedom to the hearts of its viewers, one arc at a time.

And now you've gotta hear Chopper's character song at some point.

Cetus

Chopper is so lovable. Honestly, the VA is so good too that it's made me like Konohamaru more too haha (they share the same VA). And Konohamaru is insanely likable to start with, there's just something so cute about Chopper it's like I'm looking at a sleeping dog.

Haven518

I love this goodbye. I never really noticed till this time watching, but she did the opposite of what Dr. Hiriluk did when he tried to send Chopper away. Instead of saying he wasn't needed around there any more, it was her way of saying he had been needed. It felt like a roundabout way of saying he was important to her and that was his home with how he was her assistant. And like another comment said, it really pushed chopper to solidify his resolve to leave.

Jon Hutchins

I was sobbing with you flexie, don’t worry🥲

beannie

Chopper hiding on the wrong side, just covering one eye and exposing his whole body when it should be the contrary, is a joke on how animals, specifically pets, many times will think you cant see them if they dont see you LMAO For example dogs some times hide only their head thinking you cant see them lol So Chopper understands he has to spy by only watching with one eye but doesnt realize hes not hiding at all

Valto

Oda: so you think you can hold in your emotions, we see about that, here hold my backstory.

Kimmo Hagberg

This show just destroy us from the inside 😭😭 this is so gooooood

Glandalf El Amarillo

One Piece story telling is kinda good, right Flexie?😁

reddnik

Worth waiting for.

I have finally caught up with your reactions. I´ve only read the Manga and I am now at a point which should be around episode 490 of the anime. So it´s a really interesting and fun experience to see the anime with you for the first time. I´ve never read a Manga or watched an anime in my life until after the first season of the One Piece live action which I really enjoyed and wanted to learn more about the world and the characters after that. Love your reactions and your thoughts and questions about this world and the lore :)

Marius

These moments are what makes people love one piece, happy that you’re loving it as well. Wishing you the best in your personal life and good to see you again 👌❤️

Turned the Drum Mountain into a giant Cherry Blossom tree. Amazing

KevinsLunchbox

Amazing reaction, I’m pretty sure everyone with a heart cried at this, don’t worry these tragic backstories get so much more emotional and if Oda wants you to cry, you’re gonna cry

Kcosta

When Flexi already dies from this I rly feel bad for her future :(

Sascha

Finally home from work, so glad I can watch this now!

Kcosta

This was the first moment in one piece that made me SOB. There’s worse ones though don’t worry

Gingy

I really loved the reaction of Luffy knowing there is a ropeway after he climbed through 5 km or something of the mountain. Normally people would have all sort of resentments of some sorts but Luffy doesn’t look at it that way he always look at things the positive ways and he just said wow that’s amazing. I really loved his way of life and way of thinking, he is super intelligent emotionally and he understands all Choppers concerns and basically said that we know your concerns and we don’t care we want you despite of your “ short comings” that Choppers views. Luffy’s answer may seem childish to some people but to me it was the perfect answer as someone who always think about my own insecurities and it feels amazing when you finally gather the courage to voice out all your insecurities to someone and have someone that understands it and accepts you for who you are. P.S this is my first time leaving such a long reply and comment here I was contemplating on sharing my thoughts, I understand people may find long replies annoying so might not leave such long comments again 😬 depends if people like this or hate this I guess lol

Pht0m(Alex)

I think not only Doctorine wasn’t the type of person to have an emotional 1 on 1 goodbye, she also was saying all those negative things as a test to Chopper to see that if he is actually made the decision to become a pirate so she listed all the possible negative outcomes that can happen to him. In life I feel like we sometimes make decisions not considering all outcomes and thinking through about it and you might regret your own decisions later so she was trying to make sure he wasn’t doing that and he showed her by saying “I Am also a man!”

Pht0m(Alex)

Same 😭❤️

Pht0m(Alex)

I hope you're doing well 🤞 One Piece has always been the best cure for my own sickness of the heart, I love this show so much ❤️

Wizkev

Guys idk if I can get much higher

ssbm_kepler

The ending of Drum Island always gets me too, I had a similar experience thinking "okay not a such a teary eyed farewell...", and then the cannons go off.

OthaiaGP

i really like that she called him her son at the end

Emannuel Uvalle

I really like your reaction and analysis of the episodes. It always let me remember the times over 15 years ago when I watched these episodes (fansubs at that time) together with my niece and crying and discussing what will happen next. Today we can't watch the new episodes together as she has a family of her own, but we always joke on phone that when her children are old enough we watch one piece together again. Wow i am old now. Getting old together with one piece, nice memories.

Silvanus2004

チョッパーの回は、深い上に、完成度もとても高い。

Genel sanden

Time to cry

wanira 11

I dont know if you ever noticed but Dr Kureha is actually wearing a cherry blossom shirt, which is a cute detail. Oh and btw she is 139 at this point which is actually crazy because she seems actually kinda strong since she easy kicks down walls and stuff

GG420

😭😭😭 'my stupid son'

Adil

Good tears to clean the soul.

FinalMasterM

Despite this being one of the best endings to an arc to date (or even overall depending on who you ask), Oda has said in an interview that he didn't figure out how to tie it up until halfway through the Drum Island arc. I absolutely love Doctrine because the more you analyze her actions, you really find how deep and thoughtful she is. Obviously Nami, Vivi and Dalton picked up on Nami and Sanji's "non-sanctioned" discharge, but given how she was preparing for a sendoff to Chopper it's unlikely that she was actually going to charge them for their medical fees, though the key to the armory was a definite bonus. On the surface she said she was going to take all their belongings on their ship but we see that there was no way she was going to go to the Merry to collect her dues. She also most likely discharged them because she knew that they were going to be under the supervision of her most trusted assistant, which ended up going according to Nami's initial plan. I also feel like the way she sent off Chopper was multi-layered as well. I think the "tough love" approach was to really confirm his resolve to go out to sea and to give him his first taste of the dangers he'll likely encounter after being sheltered for 5 years with her. Furthermore, she wanted to show Chopper the completion of Hiruluk's research and Chopper needed to be a certain distance from the mountain to fully appreciate the majesty of it all so I think that she chased him out for that purpose as well.

Tabo51

So Hiriluk isn't really a doctor, he's a thief that suffered from an incurable disease and has his days numbered but for some unknown reason after seeing a cherry blossom, his disease weakened and prolonged his life. Because of that, he changed his lifestyle and became a "quack/fake" doctor to devote his extended life to cure other people. Since, he doesn't have any medical skills, he actually believed that the cherry blossom cured him and was thinking of curing the sickness of drum island through making them see a cherry blossom, but it's always winter there so that's his solution which is awesome

Kevyn

The next one too!

Shin

needed to watch immediately. It’s the best Arc ending in One Piece. I feel your loss and am sorry. Hope you will overcome the grief over your loss.

D Q

Hope you're feeling well.

LUÍS FERNANDO GOIS LOBÃO

One Piece is back lets freaking goooo! There really isn't another anime like One Piece, its really special and to think the current episodes are on 1135 is mind blowing. And Dalton was going to try and kill Wapol with the bombs with himself.
