Skadi, the Jotunn goddess of snowy mountains, winter, skiing and the hunt.

How cool is it that there is a Goddess who travels by skiing? I don't know why, but I think that is just so cool and unique! Skadi is a figure that I've wanted to draw for quite some time so I managed to squeeze a portrait of her in this month! I also want to do a full figure drawing of her skiing eventually, and hey, if she is scandinavian in the winter, I bet she is a fan of saunas... (skadi spicy art?) lol Anyhoo, I'm getting ahead of myself!

I hope you like this first exploration of her!

Some of you who came to stream heard this little story, but I randomly picked up a snow sled last week and I've been using it to slide down the big hill to get to the grocery store. It's kind of silly how much fun it adds to doing my boring old errands. I think having that little bit of fun sledding also inspired a little Goddess of Winter appreciation!

Anyhoo, just a heads up that later this week and weekend I'll be working on the upcoming tutorial, so keep an eye out early next week for the Sketching like a Sculptor tutorial!
