Do you like named Characters ?

I prefer named characters, only because I didn't commission/draw them myself. If they were mine to do as I please, I'd name them, too. But, since they're not, any name you come up with is perfectly fine. And leaving it blank so I can 'name' them myself just feels off.

Yes this it's actually the reason for this post. Im bringing back my main character that is in my very first alien Encounter vid. With her having a name that I could continue to use. I started to wonder if I should name the characters.

I have a question unrelated to this post (I stand with names on the topic by the way). I was actually curious, have you ever considered using any of your main characters from previous stories in other stories? They would be almost like actresses in a movie. You have your story and you just through them into it. You must have a decent pool of female characters that you can use. I would imagine it would save you some time on creating new characters. Also it would be fun to vote on who would "star" in your latest video. This was something I thought about and wondered what your take on it is. Also love your new character designs.

Naming characters probably makes it easier to reference or request something you've done. For example, I like ****** from the Night of Ghouls II vid. I'd like to see more of her. And then you'd ask, "Which one?" And I'd say, "You know, the one with the hair. And the penis." :-D

I thought about this a while Lindsay and I think I will maybe come up with some kind of voting system for future vids. I don't really want to EA this and separate everyone based on tiers. I do understand what your saying as well Lindsay having over 1000 patrons voting on a name will be very complicated in the long run and doing what you suggested will narrow the votes down. I will think on this some more.

Thank you for the feedback csblee. What you say it very true I did not really feel the need before to name the characters in the vid due to them just being scenarios. But, now I want to seriously make these vids into episodes and writing them without names will be hard.

Just imagine using a co-worker's name who you wanna smash on one of your girl characters. That's some dark shit right there, LMAO...

On stand alone stories where there is no interaction, a name is not the necessary ... like you said, it adds to the viewers imagination. I can see it on your longer story arcs, though, especially with character interactions. Really ... do the monsters care about the woman's name? The girl in the above pic; I think she's tired of being quarantined!

Voted no pref. Overall I think sometimes its good to have names, and sometimes its exciting to have an unlucky unknown hot girl being raped and disappearing from society. Depends on each story/setup but keeping a balance on both is the best/safe bet imo.

I mean, why the hell not? Wouldn't hurt, and would enrichen your story, and allow you to re-use the "named characters" for parody scenes or something. /shrug It's all about the creativity.

Yes after doing a little bit of the voice over work I think it will be necessary on some of the bigger vids.

In the context of your stories, names in general, including ones for the various creatures, hasn't really mattered. However, that doesn't mean that named characters aren't a positive thing for the purpose of story. I voted no preference, because it really depends on the style of story you want to tell. If it is just a short story, like the various alien invasion type ones you've done, names aren't particularly relevant, unless you want a more detailed rationale/build up to said sex event. So, names for the NoG 2 worked bc it kept it clear who was who. Named characters can also be impactful if you're making a specific model for said character (name) and plan to reuse for future content (even if it is a diff story line).
