Watching the Family grow in these films is the best part. That’s the main through line in all of them. The Action is secondary to the Relationship between Riggs and Murtaugh and the large Family that they create. The Blend of Action, Comedy and Drama is Perfect. There aren’t many other action films that make me laugh and cry so much. The Boat scene with Riggs and Murtaugh was amazing. I love the line by Riggs… “You’re the only family I got! I got three beautiful kids, I love ‘em, they’re yours.” Between Lethal Weapon 3 and 4, Richard Donner and Mel Gibson made two other films… Maverick (1994), also starring Jodie Foster and James Garner. (Based on the Western TV show of the same name from the late 50s, starring James Garner) & Conspiracy Theory (1997), also starring Julia Roberts and Patrick Stewart. If Coby hasn’t seen these, She may like them. Also, has Coby seen the 3 Mad Max films starring Mel Gibson? I would assume so, since She’s from Australia, but I could be wrong. If She hasn’t, then that ought to be remedied. ;-)
