Lilo and stitch 2 is more a sequel to the first movie, whereas Leroy and Stitch is moreso the sequel to this one. I don't think you need to watch the show though really to watch Leroy.

The Movie" acts as the pilot/setup to the Animated Series while "Leroy & Stitch" acts as the conclusion to said series. Also know that "Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch" takes place in between the original and the movie you just saw, just to avoid confusion.
