Shippuden are at least set within the current events happening in the anime, or backstories and adventures of less covered characters. Or foreshadowing and giving depth to some characters, like the twelve guardians. OG Naruto filler is 100% fake. Full of disposable characters invented just for the filler. And as such it has no dramatic tension and is unwatchable to me. Regardless of the quality of animation or the fights (which also is not that great)

2021-04-24 03:43:15 +0000 UTCOnce you finish watching naruto and naruto shippuden, you should definitely go back and watch some of the fillers and filler arcs on your own time. For me it has been very satisfying watching fillers and naruto movies after shippuden ended. I'd say filler arcs from 135-200 from og naruto are my favorites. I didn't now I needed them before I watched them. People sh*t on fillers for not being cannon or the fights being boring and poorly animated but because naruto is so awesome as a character, just watching him getting to know and interact with lots of new characters whether they're cannon or not is simply therapeutic...

2021-04-23 20:44:12 +0000 UTCYea thats what I said too most filler in shippuden will start off as cannon and then turn filler midway through the show especially when ASF is made. But yea you should ask your community for help when u get to shippuded. (The power filler arc is like a movie)

2021-04-23 20:18:47 +0000 UTCNot all filler is really humorous like this. Some episodes or arcs are called filler but they're more serious missions and honestly I don't mind most of them. I think you get a better understanding of your characters through some of them. I respect your decision not to watch them, especially in this original Naruto Era, but in Shippuuden I'd say maybe have someone to ask about certain fillers because some are labeled "filler" when they arent. They're just not main plot line for what's happening at the time. Some filler are mentioned later on in canon episodes and some filler is actually backstory for some of your favourite characters so I'd say just be careful about what shippuuden filler you skip. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the filler arcs here but that's just my opinion lol. As someone who watched this show painstakingly as they were still coming out, I've seen every filler arc because there was no "filler list" back then π
