I do kinda respect Blackbeard in eps like this he literally told Luffy he's free to go rescue Ace and that anything is possible he held no grudges against them he just needed them for his plan he's a proper pirate who'll just do anything for his goal kinda like Luffy will

It's so complex, but they do not give it explicit attention. Is up to the reader to interpret everything. It's always like that! One Piece does it subtle. Other animes already chew it for ya.
