Prologue Sneak Peek
Added 2022-10-27 11:12:57 +0000 UTCHi Patrons! I've made some good progress with the new scenes being added to the prologue. One of them includes being bullied and harassed by some teenagers after the MC decides to sneak out. That created a new side-character being created - Dena whose gender can be chosen by the player because lo and behold, I decided to add a whole scene regarding the MC's early years as a teen discovering what friendship or romance is like with Dena ๐ It'll all be very chaste, mind you, but as a treat, here's a sneak peek at Dena's character with the MC after Dena walks them home (don't mind the code).
You walk in uncomfortable silence alongside Dena. The streets here are quieter and you cannot help but glance over your shoulder, in case Emos is really following you. The throbbing in your face has dulled somewhat, allowing you a moment to look towards the <<if $dena is 1>>boy<<else>>girl<</if>> who saved you tonight.
Dena is tall, taller than most people your age and far taller than you. <<if $dena is 1>>His<<else>>Her<</if>> hair is dark, nearly black under the moonlight and $Dhis eyes are a pale green that seems older than the face that wears it.
I'm currently working on the last scene with Dena - the meet-up scene where the MC can determine their relationship with Dena. That will conclude the last added scene to the prologue - there's some tender moments scattered with Ahlf, but I'm not going to be adding anything more since I like the dynamic with Ahlf being hard to show his emotions towards the MC.
Some stats for those curious (mind you, it will likely increase when I finish the current scene):
Original prologue word count: 17 947 words.
New prologue: 26 144 words.
