But if I were to develop this story further, I think Greg's coworkers didn't like him at first, as he said to everyone that working as a waiter was something unworthy, so they were happy with his punishment. But later on, he probably made some "friends" among the waitresses, who took him shopping and maybe even to a nightclub.
