Gohan's down one arm and makes his last stand against Dr Gero's most vile creation who's hell-bent on destroying the world. It's so magnificent that I can even make that parallel in this franchise. Kudos to you two for refreshing my memory by watching that Trunks Backstory. This episode was epic. I loved seeing everyone give it all they had to take down Cell even when he became Super Perfect. Everyone other than gohan might have been out of their league, but it was the thought that counts! Colleen is such a fantastic VA and it's more than self evident here.

Shadowmist909

Literally GT has the best ending

Im so hyped for final chapters

Piccolo and the others jumping in is my favorite anime addition. Those characters get so little through most of the franchise and it was perfect to have them reflect on what growth they've had while giving it their all. Vegeta needed that moment far less than the rest of them. For me, this is where the real Dragonball ends. I consider most of what follows the Cell arc to be not only much worse, but practically a parody of what Dragonball was until this point. Sort of like the Star Wars sequel trilogy, where it would have been better if they just let Return of the Jedi be the end, I think Dragonball as a franchise should have ended here and no ending it could ever have going forward will ever be half as good as this.

Kai is peak

WindTitan

Now take that and imagine being a 6-12 year old boy watching this and you can imagine why dbz is held in such insane regard

I love the ending to this arc, it’s one of the reasons why the Cell Saga is my favorite arc. To me this is the peak of the franchise, a culmination of a life long story and the beginning of a new chapter for another. The overwhelming belief in Gohan and the respect the others have for Goku makes this for me. I love both dubs, I’mma age myself a little. I saw Kai first due to being too young to even know the old Funi Dub. I only saw clips of various iconic moments in Z and didn’t see the Funi Dub until a few years ago. I watch both for different reasons, Kai for accuracy and the Funi Dub for fun. I love the Falconer score, despite the hate it gets I dig it. There are tons of themes from that score that I love. Same with Yamamoto. I adore the Funi Dub and can only imagine being a kid and watching Toonami back in 2001. I prefer Kai due to accuracy and the better performances but love both equally. This ending gets me every time man, this is why I love this franchise

Kinda curious cause I may have missed it or forgot. When are they gonna watch more of the movies and specialz? Considering some movies kinda happen before Freeza and some before Cell. Are they watching them after Z is over?

William Crenshaw

dont forget the movie bojack too

Richie Kimbumina

Majin Buu saga next and a grown up Gohan

Richie Kimbumina

Gohan at less than 50% and injured was still far too much for Cell - Even a Zenkai boosted Perfect Cell!!! That's how much of a monster Gohan is

ShaquanVirse

Piccolo and the others jumping in are filler - Vegeta is the only one who helped in the manga

ShaquanVirse

Also, Vegeta apologizing has to be one of his best moments.

I love this episode because honestly, you could say this was a flex for Gohan. A young boy with only half his power in one arm defeat a powered up Super Perfect Cell. Imagine telling that to your kids. "Yeah, I destroyed the most powerful thing in the universe with just one arm. No big deal" But in all seriousness, this episode made me tear up as well. Colleen Clickenbeard's work on Gohan has been phenomenal during this episode.
