Crypts & Cruelties 01

Here's the fist chapter of my next book in the (mostly original) Lairs & Liches series, Crypts & Cruelties!

No, you don't have to read the previous books to understand what's going on, but it helps!

Next up, Waifu Ring!

Edit: I've been told that sometimes the attachments don't show up if you don't view the individual post, so if you don't see it try that!

That's completely fair, and if you want to skip to book 2, I'd understand. It's written so that you don't need to have read the first one to understand what's going on.

Okay. I just wanted to make sure. I have faith in you as an author, but I knew this was early days for you so I wanted to know if it was worth breaking my rule that if a book doesn't grab my attention by the first 40 to 50 pages then it isn't worth my time.

Steven Stiring

It changes as it goes, as the adventure starts changing on them, and they start to work together more as they continue. It's also one of the first things I ever wrote, so it's kinda rough, like you said.

Okay I bought L&L, and have read 40 pages. Unfortunately it has been a rough read. Other than some family drama there is no tension, nothing compelling me to read the next page, because the MC knows every inch of the Dungeon, nerfed the characters, and is keeping everyone from freaking out and splintering. Does this change later in the story or should I skip to the next book?

There was a good bit of clean up in editing, but, just like the AB chapters I'm posting on QQ (Which I really need to do more of (With my 'ample' free time, clearly)) the core details are all untouched. Before I publish C&C I'll go through and do another clean-up pass of both books (but not a deeper edit (no matter how much reading my early stuff pains me)), and the C&C book itself will have gone through some edits and clean up before posting, so it'll be legally distinct. They're also Dirt-Cheap right now, for E-Books, at $3 a pop, which will probably rise a little, at least for book 2, when I publish book 3.

I totally didn’t download it, but asking for a friend if there is a significant difference between it and the one on Amazon. Keep in mind a significant clean up in editing counts as a significant difference for me. Edit: I mean my friend (I legit accidentally wrote me instead of friend forgetting to follow the joke convention).

Zerak

So, technically no, because it was a completely separate edition of the book, but I forgot I had it up so it's now been taken down, just to be sure.

PublicLee Speaking

Hey Lee is it a breach of contract with Amazon to have a free copy of your first book on here?

Zerak

The first one is on patreon, though idk if it is legal to have it there for free.

Zerak

Yeah, that sounds right. Just need to be able to afford it first.

Steven Stiring

Works now, it’s funny because when ever I decide to read a chapter I press it before opening (or checking) but I didn’t want to read this as I was going back to sleep (alarm went off 2 hours early).

Zerak

I hate starting a series in the middle, so I'll read this after I get around to reading Amateurs & Adventures and Burrows & Behemoths.

That's weird, it shows up for me just fine, both on my computer and on my phone. Gotta love technical difficulties! /s

Nothing for me as well Edit: Nvm. Patron changed how attachments appeared. They don't show up if you don't click to go into an individual post

I see it, and downloaded it, maybe refresh?

PublicLee Speaking

No attachment.
