L&L Book 3: Crypts & Cruelties 1

I'll keep doing my other stuff too, but I want to get this done this year, and at 23 projected chapters, I'm gonna shoot for 2 a month. While I've previously posted 1 & 2, that was a... while ago, so I'm going to be posting the first three real quick, in three separate posts (for Tier purposes). Once I've written #5, I'll start posting it, possibly on QQ, possibly on RR.
And while things will make more sense if you've read the first two books, doing so is not required to understand what's going on here, as, given that every book is someone's first, I try and do enough of a recap to get everyone up to basic speed at the beginning of each one.
