My merch store has been restocked and there are new T-shirt designs available for preorder courtesy of @katewillaert! Plus, pins and stickers!
In terms of where the money goes - my agent and distributor will take a cut plus I'll lose some in currency conversion fees. You may remember that when the merch store first opened up I didn't keep the money and donated much of it to charity - I still don't want to make merch a part of my regular income; I'd rather it be a fun optional thing for those that want it. It's difficult to know in advance how much money it will make but my tentative plan is to put any profits towards having new episodes professionally subtitled in German and Brazilian Portuguese, my two most popular foreign-language fan bases!

I don't know if you've gone with another service now, but please consider contracting translators or captioners directly because Rev is really exploitative of its workers.

2020-08-14 13:47:06 +0000 UTCAs a Brazilian expat, it feels me with joy that Brazilian Portuguese is one of your most popular foreign languages. When I was in high school, 10 years ago -ouch-, Philosophy and Sociology were introduced as mandatory subjects by the education board. Although I could see some sense into that decision, the way those subjects were taught was so raw and demotivating that everyone in my class considered it to be "the useless period". Only much later, with the help of creators like you, did I actually realize that Philosophy isn't about memorizing old people's names and their favorite buzzwords, and now it's become a subject I -want- to study and learn more about in my free time. I'm not sure how Philosophy and Sociology are being taught in Brazilian schools at the moment, but in a country that has been suffering so much for so long, I'm glad creators like you can provide a engaging and educational content subbed in our mother language. tysm :)
