'Work' - Behind the Scenes Pics

Hello lovely Patrons! My final video of the year is wrapped, and it's all about work! Here are some pics from the set!

Seeing as this is November and December's video I had double the budget to play with. I like to put your money on the screen, so I hired an amazing location to film in! A very spooky-looking house with a real fireplace and all kinds of creepy corners!

Inspired by A Christmas Carol, I dressed up as the ghost of Jacob Marley!

Those chains were pretty heavy, I was very sore the next day! Fun fact - those are the same handcuffs that Tom Gently wore in Abortion and Ben Shapiro.

I still haven't managed to get a haircut because of lockdown, but fortunately Dickens does describe Marley as having a ponytail!

I'm going to try and do something clever in the editing to make Marley appear ghost-like and translucent; it may not work but if I can pull it off it'll be very cool, and if I can't then the footage we have already looks great anyway lol

And the Vampire Economist is back! You might remember him from my video The Trouble With the Video Game Industry

I'm quite proud of the script on this one, it starts off talking about the jobs I had before I got into YouTube and zooms out to look at big international issues - the Vampire Economist is a key part of that

Jacob Marley's makeup is just my usual plain face; to get into vampire mode I applied an extra layer of white concealer over the top to make my skin pale, and some heavy contouring to emphasise the cheekbones. I sharpened the edges of my eyebrows with pencil and smudged some eyeliner under them

I smudged just a tiny bit of dark red lipstick onto my lips to darken them, then added fangs and gold contact lenses!

That's not genuine champagne by the way, it's just a cheap bottle of supermarket cava I got as a prop, and it all got poured away after the filming. Wouldn't want you to think I was spending your money on fancy booze!

For algorithm reasons I'm tentatively planning to release this episode in mid-December, so that should also really give me time to do a properly nice edit rather than a basic rushed job. $15+ Patrons will get to see it early, as usual. I'll have some screenshots for you soon too!
