I saw a similar thing when I worked at Burger King in the US, that being that the non-white people worked the hardest but didn't relatively/proportionately get enough recognition. Where if I as a white guy without an accent worked as hard as them, I'd probably be a hero.

One of PT's best videos of 2020. I appreciate you covered a topic so dear to my heart, as I am daily reminded about the uselessness and drudgery of my work and most other people's work whom I know. I appreciate that you had Thought Slime do the V.O. work for this video, as it felt like half of a philosophy tube viddy and it also felt REALLY closely aligned with his videos on the same subject for him, though there's less thought provoking stuff and more complaints about Canadian Cell Phone Monopolies.

That really depends on the haves at that point. On the bright side, I think it'd only take one of them to do the right thing. On the other side, I'm not sure we can count on that. That said, it's my expectation that most of them would make more bullshit jobs. To be clear, I do feel there are some jobs that some people say are bullshit that aren't. For example, my ex does regulatory compliance for clinical research. All it takes is looking at the Tuskegee Syphilis Study to see that clinical research regulation is necessary and important. That's probably an example of a job that shouldn't be completely automated away, as AI as we know it today has literally no moral component.

Bruno was the owner of the bar. Javier was the one who had to work extra hard - not to be treated as the majority, but to be treated as an eternal FNG - to compensate for the fact he wasn't white. Javier even apparently needed to work extra hard for recognition in the comments on Patreon.

Or, if you want to put it into more general terms, the minority group needs to perform in excess of the standard of the majority group to be compared at the same level of the majority group, Or, in other words, a Mexican has to put forth $100 to match an American's $50, to cover that the minority cost.

So your bit about Bruno reinforced my idea that it isn't white/male privilege but rather there is a minority cost. That is, in order for a minority to be treated as a majority they need to do more. They need to do extra to pay that cost that is nothing more than a tax on the fact they aren't a member of the majority. Or as you mentioned, Bruno had to work that hard to compensate for the fact he wasn't white.
