Andrew Returns
Added 2021-05-22 21:01:00 +0000 UTCThis past summer, I was able to plan out a safe and social distanced photo shoot with the gorgeous Andrew Haan. Andrew is a unique beauty; 21 years old, half-chinese, slender but with an extremely chiseled physique that he worked hard at while in quarantine in Vermont. He's always joking, grinning wildly and sticking out his tongue at the camera. Unlike the first time we shot, he had no problem stripping down completely, offering his entire body to our shared art. My first post-pandemic shoot, it was a wonderful relief for both of us to be creating again after cooped up at home for so long.
I was able to explore themes of isolation and anxiety by multiplying Andrew with some photoshop magic. Hundreds of nude bodies climbing a hill of mud and clutching teddy bears on a grassy river bank, a strange and intoxicating sight! During the pandemic, I've grown very interested in collaging bodies together in a way they can't touch in reality. Technology is especially important to art and storytelling right now.
