I saw the film in January in Chapter arts in Cardiff, South Wales and met Jeannie, Aubrey and Pam!! Legendary. The film was amazing and my very thin partner was blown away. The audience fell in love with Pam and we were excited to see she had come with Aubrey to the UK. I cherish the signed poster as the message Aubrey wrote has massive meaning to me. I just eant to be able to own a copy of the film now.

I’m listening to the Pilates episode and had to pause to shout about something I do know about, unlike Joe… animals absolutely get hernias. Like humans, they mostly get them from muscle strain and internal digestive issues; they aren’t a sign of personal weakness and it’s weird to suggest that they are. And cats DO NOT suck in their bellies (what???), they have a primordial pouch. This rant has all the energy of a right wing pundit who says something wildly unfounded, and then shouts about it until they get louder than whatever small part of their mind says “that may not be true”.

Aubrey's description of the employee-family standby dress code reminded me of the "dress code" PowerPoint that went around the Department of Defense/Defense Intelligence Agency a few years ago. It was wild. It had stuff like "Makeup helps women look more attractive." and "Adapt your outfit color according to your skin tone. Brunettes can wear more intense colors than blonds [sic] can." I'm so excited to potentially be able to watch this documentary when it's available outside of film festivals! Also, definitely no need to feel bad about taking brakes, burnout sucks and I don't think any of your viewers want you to start to resent the work you do. Also also, don't worry about the lazy eye in the documentary Mike - as far as I can understand from this episode, it was just a temporary thing from using Zoom too much, but I actually have strabismus so my eye turns inward basically all the time and it's actually kind of nice when I see someone on TV who has an eye turn that isn't just for comedy purposes as the butt of a joke. (I'm getting surgery for mine at some point hopefully, not for aesthetic reasons so much as because it gives me double vision and I'm at the limit of what my glasses can do to compensate for that)

After spending a weekend with my mother in law, my husband says, "The Boomers didn't invent fat-shaming, but they sure embraced the hell out of it." My teeny tiny MiL has spent her entire life on a diet after being fat-shamed as a child, and trying to explain that a lot of the crap they shamed her for was lies and bullshit. My dad was also diagnosed celiac at that time and we live in remote canada so his options were just “sorry about your luck! No more bread beer or pasta or soy sauce or crackers and chips ect for you!” We did a few pilgrimages a year to the nearest city 5hrs drive away to get huge hauls of kinnikinnick foods as they were literally the only manufacturer of GF at the time. I’m actually so grateful it became a fad diet because now my dad can actually eat so many almost-normal things now and none of it tastes like sawdust! I have a lactose allergy and my milk options in the 90s were rice milk. End of list. This episode was such a blessing - I really regretted missing the premiere, I’ve followed all the press and insta etc - I live in Brooklyn!- but also I finished my master’s of social work this spring and me and my cats are in full autistic burnout recovery mode. I told myself “Aubrey is also a human person. She would probably feel very weird about a fan pushing themselves to exhaustion to meet her. And I was right! 🥹🥰 It means a lot a lot to get to hear about the event I couldn’t make it to.

Bonus episode ideas: in one of the Your Wrong About eps (the movie rating episode) Sarah discusses the case of a 20s comedian Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle who was accused of sexual assault & murder with little evidence (as far as I know). Tons of gross anti-fat bias stuff happened in this case and it would be interesting to hear more.

I had to laugh about the discussion of family dress code for flying - my dad worked for Southwest, and the whole standby culture is so strange. You can go anywhere if you know how to use the system, but you have to get use to the anxiety of not knowing when or how and whether you'll be able to get home, and No Leggings Ever. On the flip side, my sister was in cooking school and flying home every weekend, and the TSA agents at her airport got used to her forgetting to take her thermometers out of her chef coat pocket and would hold them for her till she came back.

I need Mike and Aubrey to understand that I'm a huge fan and a dedicated listener. However, I had literally no clue they were on some kind of release schedule.
