The Neverending Story Full Length Reaction (Toy and Abby)

Thank you for being our wonderful Patrons! So many of you have asked for this reaction. It's almost as if you knew what kind of an effect a film like this will have on Toy... Tissues may or may not have run out after this...

We watched the film on Amazon Prime: https://amzn.to/4aoqSkv

The movie starts at the 1 minute and 8 seconds mark

The Neverending Story Full Length Reaction (Toy and Abby)

Comments

Abby is most likely recognizing the song from Stranger Things (season 3 I think). I did love the whole thing of Bastion was watching Atreyu, and Toy/Abby were watching Bastion and we are all watching Toy/Abby. And if Abby doesn't beat me to it, if Toy ever comes to KY I will make sure I get her on a nice, tame, smaller horse to ride. My cousin trains them and he just helped get my little cousins on their first horse to ride recently.

Alright, let's see: Child suffering from dispression following the death of his Mother. Check. Child's horse dies a horrific death by drowning in a swamp. Check. Naked, anatomically correct bare-breasted female statue. Check. Yep, definitely meets the criteria for an 80's kids film!!

Toy was right. Deep Roy played the guy with the racing snail and he played the Oompa Loompas in the Tim Burton Charlie and the Chocolate factory.

Wait, wait, wait, you've never heard The Neverending Story by Limahl?? I realize how the movie can pass you by, but the song is such an 80's classic! Or maybe it just is for us who were young back in the days? :D Actually, my first contact with this movie was the song, my mom recorded the music video on VHS and I watched it over and over again, wondering what all these creatures in it were since it had scenes from the movie in it. Then I found out there was a movie and my cousins had it on VHS, so we aaaaalways watched it when we visited! I didn't care much about horses, but losing Artax in the swamp of sadness may have been the first time a cried to a movie. And in more recent years I'm always touched by big rock guy sitting there asking if his hands doesn't look good and strong, seeing this powerful giant feel so incapable and just giving up gets me every time now. It's a beautiful movie, I love the moral of being true to yourself and not "hide behind shiny armor", and keep your fantasy spurring, keep the child within you. I love that you loved this movie! Also, early in the movie where the inhabitants of Fantasia have gathered in the castle and Toy looks like "Woooow, look at all those different beings!", and Abby like "WTF IS THAT!!!???" Had me laughing LOUD!! xD xD xD Wolfgang Petersen also directed another of my favorite movies, a bit different from this, Das Boot. I really recommend it to anyone who can sense claustrophobia through the screen. have a nice day!
