Little Gold Fiddle | Discussion & Lesson

Let's discuss George Gibson's "Little Gold Fiddle" an exceedingly rare cante-fable dating back to at least 1707. I will also explain why I've been selling so many banjos on Youtube lately and show three instruments in particular that I'd like to get into your hands.

Ran across this site with the difrent music history and Hokum was used in blues but it probably fits old time music also here’s the site : http://www.bluegrassmessengers.com/roots.aspx

Matt: you, Ethan and Justin were the first three to ask for one of these banjos so I will offer them to yall first. I expect to have them all fixed up this weekend sometime. Email me clifhicks(at)gmail(dot)com so we can set up direct communication. These will be cheap around $300 +/-. Justin has indicated that he might wait for a more expensive banjo later this year so if anybody readin really wants one of these we can probably reserve his for that person in stead. Team work!

I'm sure you're getting a lot of inquiries... Id love to have one of these historical instruments. I find it fascinating that these are a "cheap mail order" instrument. How different things are nowadays. How long do you expect to work on all of them- as well as the remainder of banjos from Mr. Gibson? Sounds like it could lead you right into retirement!

Banjo's a dirty instrument, I especially like folk songs that are funny and crass! Gotta hear the filthy version of this song at some point!

Bobby Banks

Let me know. Thank you sir. Keep posting and playing that gold!

These three "Figure 8" banjos c. 1900 should make great entry-level banjos. I will also sell you my '99 Camry if you need an entry-level car!

Clifton Hicks

I will definitely offer you one of these, Ethan since you got passed up twice today. I will sell these for about $300 most likey--not sure how much to ask until I get them fixed up.

I might be interested. Looks like you have quite a bit of work aheld of you. Love what you’re doing. Best 3 dollar subscription I’ve ever had.

Ethan Morton

I’m bored out of my mind sitting at a conference in Bend, Oregon so I can’t watch this until later. I have to say though, that the still picture that’s showing, along with mention of you selling banjos made me laugh out loud! Looks like you want to make a deal! Cheers!
