Production Update! 4.18.22

Hello spring-time patrons! 

Last update we threw a LOT your way, so this time let's boil it down to what's been getting done!

- The West Patch: The industry moves slowly but we're still moving forward on the shopping agreement. There's been a lot of big decisions to make for this about rights and deals moving forward, The next phase will probably be quiet for a while, so we'll next update you when we hear something or when we make progress on the episode 4 animatic.

- Under Helm: As you'll see in the video for this week's update, at the end we've got our progress on video game development. So far it's just getting a character to go where we click on a map. We're really starting from zero in this field, but you can see the unshaded ship map there and the character art. The software has a very active community to help with bugs so hopefully we'll keep moving along. It will be some time before it's playable, but if we can get it to that point, you patrons will get access to the alpha!

- Guardian Angel: We've recently been inspired by 1960's public access animation to make a short, cheap, 6 episode web series about a sentient tv mascot. We have the exciting opportunity to use our patron funds towards an actual character designer for this project. The angel character in this update's video is representative of the style, but is just my meager attempt at design. Hopefully we can get something really distinct to work with!

- Death of the Deke: Is underway! We're doing a polish pass on the boards, are investigating hiring another animator to help on it, and are really enjoying the art style and process so far. Once the boards are done we'll be able to get a proper spreadsheet and schedule together. This will be our primary project for the coming two or so months until completion.

- Misc: We're still waiting on Space Triage rigs to get done so we can start production on that show. Shadows Have Legs is voiced and can be shared once the art production and editing is done. We're boarding another Let's Play animatic like the one on the East Patch channel, since it was fun and brings an audience. The other projects we mentioned last update are still in our pipeline, but we have to prioritize our time or else we'll never actually finish anything. We're also still working on a look for our rebrand, so for now everything is still styled after our first love, The West Patch. Enjoy the motif before it's gone!

The spring weather has been treating us well! We've been able to spend a lot of time with our parents, in our garden, and with a new cat. All of this is thanks to your support and we hope you've had a beautiful time, as well. As always, see you next time!
