You are so right there!! I absolutely love the little filler episodes between the arcs. They are done so well that you just can't skip them.

A lot of it is based on omake chapters Mashima did for holidays or anniversaries and they are filled with funny and heartwarming moments, tons of fan service and sometimes really important character moments. They might not push the story forward, but they paint a better picture of our guild.
