Patron Request: Growth Speed?

Note: This is a request that has been send to me by a patron. Whenever I can I'll gladly answer questions directly, or make quick videos like this one. So always feel free to ask! :)

I have been asked to make a quick video to demonstrate how fast/slow the characters are growing, in the game.

The growth speed has two important factors:

Damage: The more damage you deal, the more you grow. No damage? No growth.
Size: The bigger you are, the slower you grow.

The latter causes the growth speed to be non-linear: Growing is pretty fast in the beginning, but gets slower and slower, over time. So, sooner or later you will hit a "ceiling".

(In the video you can see it gets pretty subtle, at later stages. The size change is most notable looking at the paws.)

This is important for balancing reasons, i.e. when one player is a lot further ahead, another would still have an easier time to catch up. Also, it keeps things within scales that aren't completely blowing up the game engine, haha.

Things could escalate pretty quickly, otherwise, since you get bigger... deal more damage because you are bigger. Grow a lot more, because of all the damage you deal. Grow even faster... And so on.

Important note: What I'm showing in the video is just how it looks in my development build, right now. In the final game, the rates and factors may very well look different. It's all about balancing! But, principally, this is how it's going to work.
